Gutter. FFS, the drug is APPROVED FOR HUMAN USE. WTF are you even talking about?
Trump just said "hydroxychloroquine doesn't kill people". "I want them to try it".
That is what the fuck I am talking about.
Gutter, I mean this in the kindest way possible: It’s time to take a step back.

Ok HD, After this post I'll take a step back.
Since I truly am having some COVID-19 symptoms maybe I'll go try and find some hydroxychloroquine to take along with my blood pressure med. What do I have to lose?
This evening our President implied he knows more about hydroxychloroquine than Fauci does despite his actually saying, "What do I know, I'm not a doctor". BINGO MOTHER FUCKER!!!!!
When Fauci started to step up to the podium to talk about hydroxychloroquine Trump basically brushed him off.
FUCK DJT!
Ok, now I'm going to take a step back. Have a nice evening!

Trump just said "hydroxychloroquine doesn't kill people". "I want them to try it". "Them" not meaning doctors treating patients. "Them" meaning people who may/do have the virus.
That is what the fuck I am talking about.
You need a prescription, Gutter.

I have zero problem with him informing us. But this is not the method to use to inform people, nor is much of it information that is ready to be presented. This notion that fast information is better than accurate information is troubling. It works for some things but is awful for other things. The vast majority of people who made definitive statements about this early on and ended up having incorrect statements now attributed to them.

Olympics scheduled for July 23, 2021. I know a lot of people brush off the Olympics, but I love them. I was really looking forward to them this summer.
I love the Olympics too.
Just want to promote this obit

Mary Roman, City Clerk Who Set Senior Shot Put Records, Dies at 84

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/05/obit ... 3WupiI4ph8

Just a few weeks ago, Mary Roman was using a local batting cage, as usual, to practice the shot put, one of the many field events at which the 84-year-old senior Olympian excelled.

Her late-in-life athletic success was so great — she once ranked eighth in the world in the weight throw for her age group — that everyone seemed to know her in Fairfield County, Conn.

Another source of good will came from being a fixture in local politics, a Republican who was so beloved by the former Democratic mayor of Norwalk, Alex Knopp, that he kept her on as city clerk when he was elected in 2001.

Mrs. Roman died on Monday at Norwalk Hospital of complications of the coronavirus, her son Craig said.

The situation calls for a balance between fast information and what scientists consider accurate information. Like it or not, there is too much at stake to plod along at the traditional lab science pace. It is untenable to expect people to be caged up for three months, much less eighteen. The economy will reach a point of no return and will cause suffering above and beyond anything COVID-19 can create. It would be great if we could do the slow, methodical lab science thing, but it is not going to work - at least not if you want a world worth surviving for when the dust settles.

I would be happy to take hydroxycloroquine if I had the Corona virus, POSSIBLE side effects be damned.
Side note: If the virus molecule has a layer of fat surrounding it, I suggest once it enters the lungs to take in warm steam which could possibly dissolve the virus to keep it from replicating.

Nice to know that we have 3 volunteers to take an untested and unapproved treatment for CV-19. BTW can we have the name of the doctor that wrote your prescription so we can turn him in to the state board.

Since it is FDA approved, that’s kind of a moot point.

Then put competent people at the helm of this pandemic and get your shit organized. This administration has bungled this at every step. Nothing is coordinated, no message is clear or consistent. It has been a clear display of an abject failure of leadership.

The head of the AMA disagrees with you but where did you get your medical degree?

The head of the AMA has a secure income and likely wouldn’t deign to mingle with the service industry workers who are trying to make ends meet. I’m guess he/she might care more if their income depended on the ability of their patients to pay for their care. Nothing like an ivory tower to make idealism seem like a fait accompli.

I don’t envy the POTUS. He is likely trying to balance adamant demands from both ends of the spectrum. I’m also guessing his predecessor would have mandated a Federal lockdown and would have us under martial law by now. There’s no user’s manual for this crap, and China’s deceit when all of this hit back in January muddied the waters considerably.

As I’ve said repeatedly, I don’t care about finger-pointing. I care about solutions that will get the economy back up and running ASAP. If people want to have tribunals and public executions after that is accomplished, have at it, as far as I’m concerned.

I know enough to see an economic catastrophe on the horizon and a bunch of people with a political axe to grind who mistakenly think they are immune to what will befall the masses standing by and insisting that we all just shut up and stay home. Frankly, it pisses me off.
