how silly
there are plenty of millionaire idiots
there are plenty of millionaire idiots
In some ways it's a feature, not a bug.
Please refer to my qualifier. There are definitely idiots who inherit money, but very few who earn it.
it’s still a silly argument you’re looking for, regardless of your qualifier or cases of inheritance
I see. I will defer to you, as you seem to be the resident expert on ignorance.KUTradition wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 9:34 amit’s still a silly argument you’re looking for, regardless of your qualifier or cases of inheritance
you seem to have a simplistic (aka ignorant) view of the many ways wealth can be accumulated
I don't see the nation as a "us vs them" situation. Hawaii is a state, and they are us citizens. They are in need. (Not getting into the fact that this "natural disaster" conveniently allows them to be stripped of their land)Feral wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 7:04 pm"...actual Americans..."JKLivin wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 6:18 pmExactly.randylahey wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 6:17 pm The endless cash flow to Ukraine is fucking ridiculous. Considering Hawaii is a blue state, that's very magnanimous of you.
So, what you're saying is Bill Gates shouldn't be giving us medical advice and trying to control the food supply?jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 9:03 amIn some ways it's a feature, not a bug.
A whole lot of very successful people are successful because they've done such a great job precisely aligning their talents/interests with their income generation. Meaning they're often "idiots" at the things that DON'T make them money (and they don't waste time educating themselves on things that DON'T make them money).
If that were coming from someone I respect, it might mean something.
You brought the money thing in there as some sort of qualifier, not me. And I am sure that there are a few people on that video with whom I likely share a good amount of opinions yet I still think they were goofballs. Mostly just young, inexperienced and self absorbed if you want a more detailed description.JKLivin wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 8:35 amI hate to speak in absolutes, but I think it is safe to say that making a lot of money as an entrepreneur and being a "goofball idiot" are fairly mutually exclusive. Is it at all possible that people can disagree with you and/or see the world differently and not be "goofball idiots"? Just a thought.
I think your last sentence is valid. We all - well, most of us - grow out of our inexperience and self-absorption, but I would argue that this is not the same as being an idiot, if your definition is a measure of intelligence. If it is a measure of good judgment, then I'd tend to agree with you.twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 10:41 amYou brought the money thing in there as some sort of qualifier, not me. Two self-absorbed, inexperienced goofballs on video critiquing a different video of an idiot saying idiotic things sums it up just fine.JKLivin wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 10:58 amI think your last sentence is valid. One concerned with the well-being of people with jobs like the one pictured is surely pro-union, and in favor of workplace safety regulations, paid time off, comprehensive and affordable healthcare, etc.
