I'm not picking the Titans in a monumental upset but that game could be close. As good as Henry is and has been if the Titans want to play the spoiler role Tanny will have to make a play. Against the Pats all he had to do was, 'exist in those two seconds between the snap and you givin' Henry the ball.' Against the Ravens that won't be case.
This weekend is going to be very interesting. We are potentially witnessing the changing of the guard and the beginning of a new era in the QB world. At least on the AFC side we are going to see who will get the upper hand towards establishing an order when it comes to mentioning who is the best QB. Everyone of the remaining QBs has a narrative and something to prove.

Back to the Cowboys and the McCarthy hire.
I often wonder why teams who feel they are "elite" choose to hire a guy who was fired from his previous job. Why not get a guy who is a "hot commodity"?
Maybe it's not a bad hire per se but I feel it's far from being a great one.
McCarthy has been in a Super Bowl and close to multiple Super Bowls. Won a Super Bowl and had 3 NFC Championship Appearances. I mean, he was 125-77. Not bad.
But I think Cowboys wanted someone who has been oh so close to the Big Game a handful of times compared to that of a College Coach who has success. Worked out great for Chip Kelly, huh?

I will say, whoever wins the Chiefs/Texans game will have a big advantage. Baltimore and Tennessee are going to beat each other up, big time.
Also with Baltimore, it's been 3 weeks since Jackson, Ingram, Thomas and others have played. That's a long time without any game action this late in the season. Could there be some rust with timing there? Something to keep an eye on.

Matt Rhule to Carolina Panthers. Was schedule to meet with Giants today.
Big news not only for NFL but for Big 12 and Baylor. He is a damn good coach.

Panthers went to Waco, Giants waited for Rhule to come to them. Big difference in why Rhule chose Carolina. Don't see why NFL teams sit back and say, "Come to us and we'll talk then." Go get your guy.
Chiefs did the same with Reid. Reid basically had 2 planes waiting for him in Philly, one was the Chiefs, other was the Cardinals. Hunt and Chiefs never let Reid get out of the airport conference room and he ended up coming back with Chiefs, Cardinals had to return their plane with no Big Red on it.

Ravens and Titans is going to be some big time, big boy, not for the faint of heart type football. At least on the AFC side of things this should be a great weekend of football.
I'm sure there will be some rust and timing early on, not to mention some nerves on the B-More side. As long as they don't get down something like 21-0 they will be fine.
I liked Rhule. Brought Baylor back from the dead and as a bonus he even has one year of NFL experience with the Giants. You are always taking chances on college guys going to the league but this one feels like a good hire.

Because Jerry Jones is a woman, and although the last man couldn’t be fixed, she thinks things will be different with her.

Highly unlikely. Baltimore 17.9 puts avg 1st half vs 9.4 for Tennessee. Second half, 15.4 Tennessee vs 15.2 Baltimore.
Defense- Baltimore 9.4 allowed first half vs 10.9 Tennessee. Second half, Baltimore 8.0 to Tennessee 9.3.
I’m hoping for Titans to win coin toss, start with 11 minute TD scoring drive and go from there. Much more likely for a three and out, give up early TD, and chase though.

Joe Judge - Patriots ST Coach and WR Coach is the new coach for the Giants.
Rhule getting a 7 year deal for $60M with incentives that could bring it up to $70M. That's a Jon Gruden potential $10M/year contract for a coach.
Insane. I bet he made $3M at Baylor. Now guaranteed to make $8.5M per year, potential to be $10M per year.

I'm sure Rhule won't miss the Dr Pepper factory, Texas Ranger Museum and trips to Magnolia Market.
Anyone else surprised that Bieniemy hasn't got a job yet.

Hottest name might be Greg Roman, and he's also been absent as far as interview rumors are concered.

I know people are up in arms about BIeniemy getting passed over again, but on some level I get it. He's the offensive coordinator here in name only.

Wasn't Philadelphia's head coach the Offensive Coordinator, in name only, in Kansas City under Coach Reid?

I've seen it thrown around that another reason he might be getting passed over is because potentially he might not be able to start in his new HC role until the middle of February.

With Shanahan's success, you'd think teams would look past those precious 3 extra weeks.

McCarthy was fired mostly because of bad personnel moves and because he o one wanted to admit that Rodgers is on the down side of his career. He did an excellent job in Green Bay and is a good hire.

Good article by Mellinger about Mahomes and Chiefs offense. FYI, behind a paywall.
When Mahomes, OL and skill guys are healthy, they are more efficient than 2018. They are healthy for the playoffs.
