No rooting interest, but a good thing to get out of the house for a bit with the oldest. And when tickets are free and they are in good seats with people spread out around you and not crowded like crazy on top of you, it's not a bad way to spend an evening.

Tulsa beat Houston a couple of weeks ago, and Wichita State has losses to only Missouri, Oklahoma State and Houston. So they're a good little team.
Frank Haith, coaching now at Tulsa..? Got his ass kicked by 20 and it was great to see. He's a buffoon. Was weird to be at a game with only about 2,000 fans. But it was a lot of fun to be at a live sporting even for the first time in about 16 months. Was in the corner of the arena in the first row allowed after the fan cutout things. It's crazy how much more physical and fast the game is up close compared to when you sit further away.

Wichita State has an interim coach after they got rid of Greggggggggg and it's noticeable as the players and coaches motivate and encourage and don't yell constantly. I think the interim coach gets serious consideration for the job.

I want Chris Beard here the moment Self decides he no longer wants to coach at KU.

When the time comes, can we trade back Hanni for Beard?

Dook lost again.
I'm wondering when Dook, Kentucky, and UNC were all 3 not in the top 25 in mid January.

We'll need to win vs OU this weekend or we may be in danger of falling out too.

Kentucky starters combined for a total of 16 points as they fell to 4-9 on the year by giving up a basket in the closing seconds to lose to a bad Georgia team. Chuckle.

Will be interesting to see if Cal gets any NBA offers and if so - he runs.
His UK pride has to be close to zero right now. Majority of the fan base is pissed right now and he is the justified scapegoat.
I don't know the details of his UK contract but I just don't see UK firing him and having egg on their faces to the tune of having to still pay him a shit ton of money if he decided not to take another job.
Stay tuned.......

If teams have 4+ games to make up they aren't going to cram them into 10 days before beginning single elimination tournaments where they play multiple days in a row.

1 or 2 games to make up? Sure maybe.

Villanova hasn't played a game since December 23rd and has already cancelled all of their games until January 19th.

3 ACC games postponed last Saturday. 1 for Wednesday this week is already postponed.
There has always been 4 days, yes, but this is the first time there has been a full week PLUS those 4 days. I also mentioned the possibility of Thursday games so a team isn't trying to "cram" games into 10 days.

Most Big 12 weeks are played Monday/Saturday or Tuesday/Saturday. If more games get postponed, don't be surprised to see a Monday/Thursday/Saturday week for a couple teams.
I'd say this aged well to counter those (1 person) who thought make up games would all be jammed into the schedule at the end.

Did it though?

Iowa State currently has 4 games that have been postponed. There are still 12 games remaining on their schedule.

So if they end with 5 or 6 games postponed how do you make those all up in 10 days (not only safely, but logistically)? You probably don't/can't. And if you only make a few games up how do you pick which ones?

If I were a coach who really cared about player health and safety (covid wise and other sports related injury wise) I would not agree to make up 4 games in a week right before entering a single elimination conference tournament where it is possible to play back to back to back days.

We will see what happens. Game postponements are not slowing down, they're occuring more frequently. We aren't even halfway thru conference play yet.

OU beats Texas in Austin.
It’s Baylor and then the rest.
But more than the upper half of the rest is pretty damn good.

60% of the league in Kenpom top 25.
No other conference has even half.

Kind of ironic that they lost literally the day after their SID pointed out that the 2 KU grads that vote in the AP Poll put them at 25 and Not Ranked. Newell put them at 25. And then they lost to a pretty bad Auburn team.

Pretty hilarious that miz is having its best season in almost a decade and it will be lost to history because of the weird season. The weird season also canceled their dream matchup against us when we are vulnerable and I don't see the matchup being this close next season.
