The veterans are always going to test the rookies.

It seems they've gone somewhat overboard, but this will all settle out with time.

The fact that she's white, straight, and getting all the attention only makes it that much more intense.

And as far as "where are her teammates?", the players barely know each other. They've had less than a week's worth of practice so far this season, from what I heard.

And if all of that isn't 100% correct, I recommend you sue me.

Worst part about the current WNBA, it's becoming more than just basketball.
The Angel Reese ejection last night was indeed weak but then you get this kind of shit. Bozo Ball comes along feeling the need for attention - and gets it.

This is not the kind of stuff that would get me to tune in but it will hypnotize a lot of America especially in the social media world.

the wnba needs the extra-curricular bull$#!t. as the game alone cannot stand on its' own two feet.

This might be old news, but a take I heard yesterday was that the gambling money is really good with the WNBA right now because the analytics suck. The guest on the radio said there is not enough data gathering on the WNBA. Thus people who actually watch the games can have an edge by using their own knowledge.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

You beat me to it.

At least Clark's team won and she had a good laugh about it.

The one of Westbrook walking the ball up and forgetting to dribble is a good one that comes to mind.

And then the girl she passed it to missed a wide open shot and didn't follow for the rebound.

For the record, I am not hating because they are women. I would hate on an NBA player just the same for something that dumb. But the added attention to the WNBA means attention to both the good and the bad plays.

I have been thinking about switching to CBSSports for my primary sports site this summer as ESPN clearly is pushing as much WNBA drama as they can on their front page.

It's the first game of the NBA Finals today and the top two stories are about the WNBA, one such story is apparently about someone in the crowd getting mad at a player.

THIS is the shit that makes me NOT want to give a damn about the WNBA. Notice the amount of "views" her tweet has received.

Angel Reese
@Reese10Angel
finding out our teams hotel to pull with a camera as we get off the bus and put it in my teammates face & HARASS her is NASTY WORK. this really is outta control and needs to STOP.

Queer Latifah 🥂
@TheAfrocentricI
This is why we are demanding CC, team officials, and higher ups to speak out against this racism, misogyny, & harassment. This is going to continue until then or until something severe happens.

Today In: Caitlin making it rain.

Due to unprecedented demand, the Washington Mystics announced that the game against the Indiana Fever on Friday, June 7 will now be played at Capital One Arena (COA).

The Mystics had to do the same thing the night before, Thursday June 6th, when the Chicago Sky and Angel Reese came to town. The Mystics usually play in a 4,000 seat arena.

The home game versus the Sky having this venue change comes with Angel Reese who was drafted by Chicago. Reese is from Baltimore which is about 45 minutes up the road from the nation’s capital. She also played two years at the University of Maryland before transferring to Louisiana State University. She is very much local talent that everyone will be in the city to see. [...]

I watched last night's game on an Indiana TV station, ion, that until I checked, I didn't even know I could get on Xfinity. It was a good, close game:

As popular as the WNBA may be today, what would you guesstimate is the percentage of ALL the people living in this country who can tell you what team Caitlin Clark plays for?
I'm going with under 6%.
