Regarding last nights call - I watched the replay - Gesicki wasn't held - but Burrow was either 'roughed' or 'facemasked' - take your pick.

Bengals shoulda had another try at the 1 yard line.

It was definitely close.

I'd prefer they not call those kinds of things roughing the passer. It wasn't very late and his face mask barely got hit.

He had one earlier in the game where he was clobbered that they 100% should have called.

Agreed. But we see this night in and night out. The refs don't suck for or against any specific teams. They just suck. This stuff, the Vikings obvious facemask safety. The list goes on and on. Inexcusable mistakes far too regularly.

If they want to change the rules then I’m all for it but it wasn’t close. Burrow got, by it’s definition currently, face-masked.

I think the defense should be allowed a lot more contact. No spearing with your helmet but late hits on QBs should be more lenient to the defense and contact while defending passers should be wayyy more lenient.

100%. I almost always want less penalties called but you have to call that. They have specific refs assigned to be staring at the QB at that time so they cannot claim they didn't see it. So based on what they had to have seen, they had to call that.

End of game plays cannot be treat as "anything goes, all rules are set aside". They let way too many egregious penalties go on end of game attempts. From 2 point tries to Hail Marys and everything in between. You can't just maul the skill players. I'll die on that hill.

I went back and watched the replay.....it was a bit worse than I thought it real time.

I get pissed with them flagging incidental stuff, like a knuckle on an imaginary line or wincing slightly before the snap. And not every team the same way. Also don't like leading with helmets to try to get fumbles from cracked ribs.

It’s the offensive line holds that are the most problematic because it just feels like officials could call it every two or three plays if they wanted—you’d watch the replay and go “I mean I guess that’s barely a hold? Maybe?”

they could probably call it every play, for nearly every team
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Holding, yes, I agree with that. They should only call the more egregious holds that directly prevent a defensive player from making a play. But some random jersey tug on a guy who has no chance at the play should be ignored.

The NFL....
Where if you want to buy a ticket right now you probably can't get in to Soldier Field, Arrowhead, or Northwest, for under $200 but if you want to buy a ticket to get in to the Super Dome, EverBank, SoFi, AT&T, and State Farm, you can probably do it for under $50.

Updated predictions without looking at teams remaining schedules and without figuring out if the records are equal wins and losses.....

Bills 12-5
Jets 8-9
Phins 6-11
Pats 5-12

Ravens 12-5
Steelers 11-6
Bengals 8-9
Browns 5-12

Texans 11-6
Colts 7-10
Titans 5-12
Jags 4-13

Chiefs 15-2
Chargers 9-8
Broncos 9-8
Raiders 4-13

Commanders 12-5
Eagles 12-5
Cowboys 7-10
Giants 5-12

Lions 14-3
Vikings 11-6
Packers 10-7
Bears 7-10

Falcons 11-6
Buccaneers 9-8
Saints 5-12
Panthers 4-13

49ers 11-6
Cardinals 9-8
Rams 9-8
Seahawks 7-10

The Bears, with DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, Deandre Swift AND the no 1 draft pick can’t score more than 3 points vs the 2 win Patriots?

And Cole Kmet (who is tied for the team lead in reception TDs and was 2nd in TD receptions last season).
They couldn't score more than 9 points against the Cards the week before.
If I am not mistaken, I think the Bears have 1 1st quarter TD all season.

OC Shame Waldumb (Shane Waldron) is JUNK!
HC Matt Eberflus is JUNK!
GM Ryan Poles is JUNK!
President/CEO Kevin Warren is JUNK!
Chairman George McCaskey is JUNK!

P.S. QB Caleb Williams is JUNK! Not as JUNK as the 5 guys I just mentioned but still JUNK!

Caleb might have been ok if you would have hired the right OC. Take for instance Kliff Kingsbury who you passed over and the Washington ...... took.

How many times can Chicago have a new 1st round QB stuck with a lame duck HC?
