10,000 year old eggs. Ever had one? I had one in Qinyuang. Yuck.
I've seen them but passed. Same with Balut in the Philippines.

OMG, I had to look up what balut was! People actually eat this?!?! I suppose it makes sense that if someone is going to eat something 1 week post birth why not 1 week pre!
Disclaimer: as a lifelong vegetarian my sensibilities are different from many, but it’s interesting to see where people draw certain lines

it actually tastes pretty good...just don’t look at it prior to eating it
sometimes duck is used, but i’ve most often seen chicken. and it’s generally sold based on age. the one i had was 17 day old

I’m not saying I wouldn’t try it, just that you might have to egg me on about it a little first

5 random sober thoughts for a cold Wednesday evening.
1) I'm pretty sure Covid is the worst worldwide "disaster" in my lifetime. I can't think of a worse one.
2) Sometimes a $10 meal can be much better than a $100 meal.
3) The human body is really freaking complicated. Why?
4) I would never hit a woman but I might be tempted to pay a woman to hit another woman.
5) I can't decide if my life would be better if computers never existed. I like to think it would.

There's a much worse one coming in the next year or two...

“Unpleasant” as in taste really bad or “unpleasant” as in pushing personal boundaries? Please feel free to ignore if the question is too intrusive.
You did say balut tasted pretty good

My kids toys keep going off and playing music and singing songs randomly. One jungle train just played its song and rolled a foot across the floor while in trying to sleep. No one else is awake. What the fuck man. Stop it dammit, if thats a ghost at least play quietly. Havent even had a beer tonight, starting to wonder ha

there was a particular odor that i didn’t care for. i had extended relatives back in the day that owned/operated a chicken farm, and that’s what it reminded me of...but not in a good way
my very first trip i was offered dog. not tasty, and just an odd sorta situation. of course i didn’t want to be rude so i partook in a little, but i’m not sure i’d do it again if the opportunity arose

Based on your past Nostradumbass predictions, I figure "in the next year or two" means nothing "worse" will happen for at least the next 5 or 6 years.

Trad: on many trips my travel companions wish they could just throw up their hands and claim to be vegetarian when certain foods were presented to them (chicken feet, for instance!)

i’ve had plenty of ramen or oatmeal meals myself
after some thought, i’ve decided that the worst might just be congealed blood (not sure the source, but likely either chicken or pig) that was cubed and then grilled over a fire
but, i think it’s absolutely fantastic that none of the animal goes to waste in that part of the world

Yeah, that much is cool.
In fact, I think our country is among the few cultures that don’t make an effort utilize every part of an animal without waste
