Mike Kafka leaving Chiefs to be the Giants OC. Ouch. That was a guy you COULDN'T have leave the building.

He had metamorphosed into a pretty special man of Judgment until the Burrow got us.

Can't help but think Andy Reid had a timeline where Kafka was going to end up at OC but it all fell through when no one would hire Eric Bieniemy year after year.

Complicated. His contract had expired, so you really couldn't do much if you tried. You would have had to fire Bienemy and put him into OC. Which, right/wrong/otherwise, Andy wasn't doing that.

You have to believe when another team eventually hires Bienemy to be HC (which with the lawsuit and heat starting to come down on the NFL you would think would be next year at the latest), the first call will be to Kafka. And you'd think he'd jump at the chance.

Is it crazy to think that Bieniemy could/should be named HCiW at Chiefs as early as this Spring?

Not sure I follow the incentives here. The only reason you'd do this is to prevent other teams from being allowed to interview him. That's already happening.

Yeah, just didn't know how badly KC wouldn't want him to get away and/or how much they want him to be their next HC. Also knowing that Reid is old and the last season + postseason have not gone well for Reid professionally and personally.

Not being a Chiefs guy, not nearly as familiar with the situation as you guys are. I've thought ever since Payton "retired" that Bieniemy would be their #1 target.

I still have no idea how that offense got pants’d that bad by a pretty average Bengals defense. Mind blowing how you let that one slip away. Reid, needs to take a hard look at himself in the mirror because that loss is squarely on his shoulders. If you don’t want your wonder kid QB doing dumb stuff use your RB’s who were averaging over 5 yards a carry with the strength of your o-line against a freaking 3 man front and blow them right out of the water.

That will forever be Andy Reid’s downfall. Over thinks it, gets to cute and is to nice and then chokes.
The offense had 5.8 yards per carry in the game. Guess what their worst run of the game was? McKinnon for 1 yard on the final drive of regulation.

Reid wasn't patient enough. Wouldn't surprise me if EB is gone after this year. I think the offense has reached its peak with him as OC. I know Reid calls the plays and draws them up, but EB leads the meetings and does most of the communicating on the field during the games.
The reason's EB will probably never be a HC.

Too many skelton's in his closet.
An OC who does not call the plays.
Matt Nagy.

That loss was on Chief's coaches. Bengals switch their defense in second half. Basically rushed 3 dropped 8 and switched from two high safety to one high safety and other coming down in the box in the middle. The safety coming down in box stopping shallow cross, Kelce dump and RB out of the back field in the middle of the field.

This defense can not stop the run. You run the ball till the Bengals switch out of this defense.

If you’re getting 8 plus yards on every other run you should run it a lot more.

Anyone know if there are Clark Hunt, Brett Veach, and Andy Reid suggestion boxes right outside the main entrance to 1 Arrowhead Dr.?
If not, why not start a thread on here and forward them the link in an email?

While this doesn't change some previous failures in the Chiefs draft, we did get some steals as evidenced here:

ESPN did a redraft of last season and Humphrey went 20th, Trey Smith 34th and Nick Bolton 44th. We didnt have a pick til 58th.

Veach, by his own admission admitted he screwed up on the Speaks pick. He panicked on Hardman because of the Hill situation so I can some what give him that. His biggest blunder was being talked into CEH.

Interesting. Could Bieniemy not be in KC next year?

Bieniemy's contract expires this year and there are rumblings that with Kafka gone to the Giants, Andy Reid is interested in bringing back Matt Nagy as OC. Another name that's been tossed around as a new staff addition is Liam Coen, OC/QB coach at Kentucky.
