I am not getting Ous here. The war is an invasion of a sovereign nation by Russia as they commit indescriminate war crimes. The Russians could go home and end the war today.

I agree here, and always have. The Russians are war criminals, and should just go home and end the war like pronto!
But, among other things - would a ceasefire make it more or less difficult for the Ukrainian oil industry to be privatized by Halliburton?

This war has nothing to do with money grabs. This is a war between literal good versus evil, nothing but.
And, like Japhy would be giddy to slap some sense into you about, this war is so totally different than Iraq. He called bullshit on that one right quick! But this one’s way more differenter this time!
So much so, that when asked to articulate precisely why it’s different, which is to say, why he thinks the same powers who derped us on WMDs in Iraq are suddenly playing us straight about Ukraine, (and Halliburton lulz), that’s why Japhy is suddenly too busy to respond.
Point is, to accept it all bravely. Accept it with pride. Cuz you never ask questions when God’s on our side!

Ukraine has to win. There isn't a binary choice. On the one hand you have Putin and a clearly empowered autocratic movement coming for Ousdahl's sofa, On the other, a country that was invaded and brutally attacked. Ukraine is doing well. Bahkmut holds and the Russians are falling back. This Ousdahl posturing is tedious tankie talk.

True, my mistake.
But not opposing Putin in Ukraine would only embolden him and not only pose an existential threat to a number of countries in eastern Europe, but put him closer to our allies in western Europe.
So, being anything other than militarily stronger than Russia would be stupid.

this is, and always has been, about the US vs russia…Ukraine is just a pawn
the UK, Germany, Poland, Finland Sweden, etc., and their collective security don’t really matter, and are only being used as propaganda to prop up the war effort so the US can go in afterward and take control of Ukrainian resources
