I read through this with an open mind but also have to take all of this with a huge grain of salt. That is pretty bloggy as others have said.
I want to raise another point though, not necessarily related to the key focus of this article. Has anyone else noticed over the last 3-4 years now that going online after pretty much any sporting event results in seeing the immediate narrative being "they threw the game" "it was rigged" "everything is scripted"? Maybe it's just me but it feels like we are seeing more and more of that recently.
Wrong board, but: you’re telling me that 1/3 of the country has been taught that it’s ok to simply deny even the possibility of a fair loss?

Great question!
I might also add that 1/3 of the country has been taught it's ok to blame anything and everything but the primary reason that there was a fair loss.

I think it was a fair loss. The officiating was good. ( as opposed to last years Super Bowl ). We just mind bogglingly blew it. To the point where you could convince yourself it was rigged but obviously know it's not. Or, an actual believable theory, EB, Andy and Mahomes were arguing over play calls after the end if the first half debacle.

Yep, end of first half was a disaster. No communication it seems. Mahomes tried to call a timeout when there wasn’t one, how does he not know they were out of timeouts? Big failure on EB and Reid not communicating that important information, but Mahomes should have known. 13 seconds, make one passing attempt to the end zone, if that doesn’t work, kick the chip shot for 3 points.

A loss is a loss is a loss. I have watched a lot of Chiefs football though. That second half collapse was something not even a Jeff Kinney era team would have done. Benching Mahomes probably would have won the game which is the weirdest part.

Chicago hasn't even had a decent Cheesburger since the 80s.

Speaking of Chicago, Cheeseburgers, and the 80s, Ditka was a highly overrated "Cheeseburger".
So were the cheeseburgers they served in his restaurant.
Being serious (I was being serious with my earlier comment/s too), Nagy looked like a God when he first came to Chicago. Then look what happened.
I have no malice towards the guy other than he ended up being a terrible HC - and he and his dumb decisions cost the Bears some Ws. That's in the past. I wish him and the Chiefs well with his reunion going forward.

WTF....Chiefs looking at Kansas for a possible new stadium. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Arrrowhead. I guess they are worried that if the Royals get a new stadium downtown, there won't be enough support from Missouri voters to fund a $2B football stadium that is used 10-12 times a year.

I normally would say don't you dare change Arrowhead but if it's leaving Missouri, i'm all in.

They're not looking at Kansas. They are playing the politicians and voters/public for more money.
NFL owners are garbage.

Have no inside knowledge, but...this sure
feels like the Chiefs asking a couple obvious Kansas spots to spend a few hundred thousand bucks preparing fancy mixed-use (stadium+entertainment+hotel) proposals...which the Chiefs will gladly accept as diligence (and stalking horses) for their eventual plans for what to do at the Sports Complex once the Royals are downtown.

Yes, and I should not have left the MLB owners out of my last statement.
Moving the Royals downtown and building a PnL-like district next to GEHA Stadium is going to cost taxpayers millions, hell maybe even a billion.
Royals are worth something like $4 billion. That's in the same territory as Chelsea and/or Manchester United per google search.
edit: apparently way off on my Royals valuation, I thought I had heard 4. Worth a measly $1.2b and climbing.

Think about the payoff though when KC gets to help host the 2062 World Cup!

Oh you're shooting too high. More like "makes the runner-up bid to host the pre-party for the NFL 2033 schedule release show halftime show."

So you guys don't think a Royals ballpark downtown is a good idea? I think it would be great, just IMHO. It would bring much more fans downtown to help support the PnL (depending on where the stadium is put of course). I love going to baseball games in other cities (Twins, Cardinals) and being downtown and seeing the skyline instead of cars passing on a freeway.
KC also needs to figure out a way to get an NBA team (Pelicans?).

Downtown baseball is an outstanding idea. And, it's easier for me to swallow the public helping out because that is like 90-100 events per year downtown.
What I think everyone is grumbling about is the inevitable fact that the Chiefs are going to build an entertainment district like the PnL, right next to their stadium, and seek public tax dollars for it. It would only be open for games, etc.

Foxborough and the Patriots have something similar. Like a hotel, a mall, a few restaurants. It's so weird. I hope they don't consider that.

Not sure I agree about it not being open. I think they’re shooting for something like The Battery in Atlanta.
