Krzyzewski has missed a number of games due to health issues in recent years. In fact, last season was the first time in four years when he had perfect attendance. He missed a game against Wake Forest in 2017-18 with a virus, close to a month in 2016-17 after having back surgery and missed a game in 2015-16 due to illness.

How many other coaches log so many absences?

He dipped out of that one season when they sucked in the 90s, he had that fake faint a few years back and now this excuse when his team honestly got outplayed and lost.

He’s a buffoon when he wins and he’s an absolute loser when he loses.

Yeah, that mid-season back surgery coincided with one of the weaker rosters he’s fielded.

I actually don't hate Coach K; I hate Duke fans and most Duke players...but I've gotten over my hatred for K over the years.

There is almost always a ton of shuffling in the Top 15, especially in these days of constant roster upheaval due to early departures and transfers.

The vast majority of D1 teams will be playing better in January than they are in November.

I do. Coach K is a disingenuous two faced weasel and a sore loser.

I don’t get how K is endearing to anyone at all. In every interview and presser he comes across as cold and arrogant, with no apparent charm or humor or personality to speak of.

If I was a recruit I don’t know how that dude could come across as charming while making his pitch to me and my mamma.

But, winning is winning.

And also, if I’m high profile enough to do something as audacious as seek my fair market value, I may be drawn toward the fact K and Duke seem untouchable by the ncaa or feds or anyone.

And I think it’s no coincidence that the past few seasons K beat Cal at his own game.

I can agree with this, except for the way it implies Cal is otherwise genuine. That just feels weird.

Exactly. Cal is the biggest phony in the game. K and Roi run a distant second.

You guys don’t like k because he is the greatest basketball coach in the world.

In some ways cal is genuine, in many he’s not.

I wish Bill were a little more honest publicly, but it’s probably the right game to play and I think being in a small midwestern town plays into it.
