Semi-related, but does anyone wanna go in on an employee-owned bar in Lawrence with me?
We’re gonna open up shop right next to the Bourgeois Pig, and we’re gonna call it the Proletariat Butcher.
But illy gets no ownership and has to do all the Charlie work.

But despite his best efforts, illy does make a certain point.
Unfortunately the systems of socialism (unions and such) can be almost as ripe for abuse as the capitalist systems they’re designed to offset.

Pulling yer leg?
No bro, that’s not me, that’s the machine at work pulling your leg. If I wuz you I’d get it out of there before it pulls it clean off.
Cuz, considering your stance on socialism, I certainly wouldn’t wanna put you in a a position to expect worker’s compensation should you loose a leg.
Now rub some dirt on it and get back to work!

Wonder what % of total businesses in the country are "employee" owned? My guess is more than you'd think.
Not every business is a giant evil corporation looking to take advantage of their employees.

Rat-bashing is seriously underrated, as is searching for treasure in the sewers. Plus, bleach smells good and tastes good.

just under half according to a 2019 study done at Rutgers
edit: scratch that...it’s just under 50% of private sector employees that have ownership or profit shares where they work

That number gets worse with socialism...not better.
Getting all of your news and ideas from the unemployed 20 somethings on reddits echo chamber is almost as bad as getting all your news and ideas from fox news and OAN or whatever that is

Actually, I only rarely get on Reddit.
And when I do, it’s for some niche porn or fishing or music discussion more so than economic policy.

Dude, you need to look into it then. Because they're stealing all your jokes, and what's worse, they usually post them about a day before you post them here.

Well, I rapped upon a house with the U.S. flag upon display
I said, "Could you help me out? I got some friends down the way"
The man says, "Get out of here, I'll tear you limb from limb"
I said, "You know, they refused Jesus, too", he said, "You're not Him"

But the funniest thing was when I was leaving the bay
I saw three ships a-sailin’, they were all headed my way
I asked the captain what his name was, and how come he didn’t drive a truck
He said his name was Columbus
I just said, “good luck”

Just saw a Dominos pizza commercial advertising driverless delivery vehicles.
Find it interesting thst their sales pitch is, "buy our pizzas, we just eliminated jobs!"

The whole automation thing is quite the can of worms.
What’s that story of a hypothetical future in which the economy is so automated that there’s only one job left, and that job is just to push the on button?
