Is it just me and BofH, or does anyone else feel like this team’s biggest issue is not enough ink?

excluding facial ink/pcp-ers, right?

Biggest issue to me in the end is no top end talent. Needed that today to take us home.

Looking around the NCAA, in a non-covid year, Jared Butler doesn't return. And I think our team is Devon Dotson away from competing with Baylor in the league and has Final Four aspirations.

That's ultimately on Bill, because we knew Devon was gone, but a little perspective.

This is especially problematic because Dotson coulda left the year before.

So this is actually year #2 without a good plan to replace Dotson.

And if Dok hadn't shocked us all by coming back, it would be 3 straight down seasons.

I pretty much said all of this in the Baylor game thread. Yes, you need an elite pg/QB to win, I agree.

Has anyone suggested the team get more ink?

Devon was always going to stay 2 years, but you're not wrong.

I just wonder if Bill had any options other than MG. Bryce doesn't look like a PG. I think there could be a cloud over our recruiting, but of course it didn't stop OSU from offering Cade's brother a job.

We actually do need more players with more ink. Usually those are the guys with some swag. Maybe we need Dooley back and he can start recruiting the East coast again.

Team full of great 3rd and 4th options.

Ochai is a good 2nd option.
DMac and Garrett top notch 3rds.

No 1sts.

Also I still really like this team.
Different than being frustrating because they are.

But I don’t think there’s anyone who isn’t buying in or bitching.

Ochai is a local who always wanted to play here. Braun too. You can see how DMac wants to be so good but he’s out of control. Garrett a unheralded senior. Wilson just navigating. Mitch LOVES it here.

Unlike years where people are here just for a quick stop to get paid in the NBA.

What college basketball is all about. I get it. No surprise there have been zero off court issues with our guys.
