Garrity seems fine from his bio page. I just hope we get 3-4 people like that interested and the committee can make the best fit selection.

Yep. It was really cool to see Mangino make his pick. He likes to think he's not involved with the school much anymore, but he's as invested as the typical fan. I guarantee he watches more than he admits.

I like Danny, but he's been a little too loud on this for me.
And, it seems he's clearly more journalist here than insider.
Which is odd considering we haven't heard a peep about KU from D-Man publicly since he took the Tulsa job.
Yes, that is sigh of relief there wasn't serious consideration to the idea of him being AD.

And everyone who seriously pushed for him should be ashamed.

Well let's see who we get first.

Again, Dennis Dodd as connected as any national writer around the program. Released updated AD list today:
Missy Conboy - Senior Associate AD at ND
Monica Lebron - Deputy AD at Tennessee
Sarah Baumgartner - Deputy AD at Rutgers
Carla Williams - Virginia AD
Mark Alnutt - Buffalo AD
Mike Harrity - Army Deputy AD
That's a damn solid list. Would love Conboy, Williams or Harrity.

No Mojahir?
I am fine with any of those.
Was also hoping to see Desiree Reed-Francois's name.

If you believe the rumors on other sites, Floodman will get an interview but will finish tied for 2nd place.

It seems Floodman will be considered, and could take on a large role, but will not be the AD.

Pairing Floodman with a compliance/development person like Conboy would seem to make sense.

Ultimately think what happens. I think Banks comes here in an Associate AD role and handles the boosters and lets AD do their thing.

Seems like with Mojahir the timing is wrong with him just starting at UCF. Doesn't want to leave after just starting and making a bad name for himself within in the industry. I can respect that.
I'm fine with all of those names. Interesting to see Army and Buffalo's ADs as candidates. Concidence. I believe not. Each of these candidates are respected and carry experience with them compared to the former Jayhawk spin that was being pushed early on with Banks and D-Man. Now that being said I wouldn't mind Banks coming back in any sort of way with the football program. Maybe something similar to the role that Vince Young had at Texas. Vince was a part time 'fund raiser' who was responsible for working special events and out reach to 'big time' football donors. I say part time for Banks because I have a feeling it will be a pay deduction from what he is making in the public sector.

The role you described is what Darrell Stuckey is doing.

All according to new KU beat writer Mike Vernon..
Mohajir I guess has a pretty substantial buyout. Why he's pretty untouchable.
Committee is looking at who can place KU in best position for next possible realignment, and Banks is a negative with that because he has ZERO experience with that.
Also, Long was on a slippery slope, but decision to name DeBord as the guy in charge after the firing was not taken well and that was ultimately the beginning of the end.
Travis Goff from NW has had some discussions with committee and he's been very impressive.

I guess that could have been the straw that broke the camel's back. But that doesn't even make it on to my list of why he should have been fired.

I thought Stuck was more engaging with football specific alums and being more involved with the team.
Would like for Banks to be involved with fundraising efforts with football donors or to run all large athletic fundraising efforts.
They could find a role for him it’s does Banks want to either probably take a pay cut or invest the time.

Would be interesting to see if Goff was named the AD - if he would want to go a Pat Fitzgerald kind of route in terms of hiring a coach.

All depends on if Jones stays interim. They’ll all be here for 2021 but if new coach, likely majority of staff leaves.
