SF: Gradey Dick, Sunrise Christian (Bel Aire, Kan.), 2022

College: Kansas

Why He’s an SI All-American: Dick led the NIBC in scoring, averaging 17.9 points a game to go along with 5.2 rebounds. He shot a blistering 47% from the three-point line and dominated the practices at the McDonald’s All American game, widely regarded as the most competitive aspect of the all star game’s festivities.
dominated the mcdonalds practices huh? that sounds very promising

Preseason AA teams are always filled with freshman.

Actual AA teams have far fewer.

I thought the same.
Then realized that was a high school AA team, not a projected AA team for college next year.

Ahh, makes more sense then!

One of the best scorers in the college game is in the transfer portal.

Those stats are nuts. He's done it against a lower level of competition, but I think we would take him in a heartbeat.

I'd like to see his averages against power 5 teams only. Pts and shooting %. And then compare.

I guess I am not ready to give up on Yesufu or Cuffe for 1yr of a volume shooter from a tiny conference.

Good point. I agree. With a year in the system already for both Yesufu and Cuffe, can't be overlooked.

If only his game logs existed out there for you to look at....I guess I will go get it for you.

Going through his game logs looking for games against either P6 schools or elite programs:

No major opponents his freshman season

Sophomore season:
28 @ NC State
26 @ Clemson
27 @ Notre Dame
31 @ Gonzaga

Junior season:
24 @ Michigan State
14 @ Notre Dame

Senior season:
16 @ Mississippi State
27 @ Louisville

And those aren't just cherry picked good games. Those are ALL of his games vs. opponents of note. I think he'd do just fine.

Looks like Baylor will be losing Jeremy Sochan for next season. So that's good.

That Detroit Mercy guy is good enough to play here, but role and fit would seem to be the bigger concerns, especially with 1 year here.

Cuffe is so young but so much potential. Really hope we keep him happy here. The natty has to help that.

Danny Manning hired by Kenny Payne as an assistant at Louisville.

Surprising to me that Danny does not go after a mid-major head coach job. He was successful there.

If either one return, they will be the face of the team.

If neither, who is it?
Harris?
