Dajuan Harris Jr is going to end up on that top 50 list.
And some people are going to hate.
Five years of being the starting PG is going to give Harris elite numbers in those PG stat columns and the natty will boost his cred as well. So he will be one of the top 50 in terms of accomplishments. But he isn't one of the 50 best players to play for KU at all.
It's a best career list though right? Not a "best at basketball" list?
Maybe I am wrong.

If you are referring to that top 50 list it is both a career and best at basketball list.
It combines total career stats ( no matter how long you play ) with your crimscore ( which is a combination of efficiency and total stats ) and your overall awards/achievements ( NPOY, 1st team AA, 2nd team AA, CPOY, C1st team, NCAA title, MOP ).
For instance, you add Dajuan into that list of 52 right now ( stats and achievements so far )?
He's number 53.
Dead list in Crimscore just behind RussRob.
41st in career totals score just behind Greg Ostertag.
44th in awards score tied with RussRob but behind Josh Jackson ( he and Russ Rob have National Titles and nothing else ).
48th in total points scored despite having 4 years to do so.
6th in total assists, quickly approaching Devonte Graham.
So yea, if his career was a normal 4 years, I don't think he makes the cut.

is it possible Dajuan might end up on BOTH thr top 50 most underrated players AND top 50 most overrated players list?

TraditionKU, may or may not have been that 1 poster who voted TRob over Vonte.
He is not here to defend himself so no one will ever know.
if i did (i probably did), i’d still stand by it

Totes fine.
Your vote.
( unless you put Russ Rob in your top 7 and don't include Frank Mason in your top 25 then it's not totes fine - cough cough Cascadia )

Ummmmm.
I'm not saying he can't give a SECOND Senior Night speech but......
I don't have a problem with it being a one time thing.

Good. No player should ever give 2. Especially not a transfer that plays 2 seasons here and gives 2 senior night speeches.
Honestly thought there was no way he would return after giving a senior night speech last year

no way, 2 coach said he was sitting out to protect his draft stock. So, he can't possibly be playing.

Curious to see if he plays against KState or rests for Houston....

So.....now that we know his fate, was this transfer worth it?
1-1 NCAA record.
Now, obviously he made us better the last 2 years. But undoubtedly his presence also influenced people to transfer from Kansas or caused recruits to avoid Kansas due to an upperclassmen already cemented in their spot.
This is the gamble with taking these transfers on 1 or 2 year rentals. They impact development of players that either come and leave or never come at all.
I am not sure how I feel about it yet. I tend to feel like KM was worth it.
But it sure does make me think about HD and the impact on Udeh Zuby and potentially Bidunga if HD returns.

I think it self-evidently is worth it. Bird in the hand and all that. Particularly when you consider that it's not like we are firing on all cylinders lately when it comes to young guys being ready to contribute.

did we win or share the Big 12 regular season last season?

I think to maintain our level of expectations and consistency, we are better off recruiting talented 3/4 year guys and developing them, than having to borrow a transfer for a season or 2. Mccullar was expected to be a one year rental when we got him, so in a way we were lucky to get a 2nd year
The problem is nobody wants to develop and wait to play anymore, and thanks to the portal/NIL, nobody has to sit the bench at a place like kansas, other programs would love to have our bench players

You'd likely have Tyon Grant Foster and Bryce Thompson instead of McCullar.
It sucks he got hurt.
If he hadn't we are likely a 2 seed in this tourney.
I guess that would probably be worth it?
At the same time, i'd have loved to see Foster and Thompson as seniors.

But mccullar was a stud, I'm confident he impacted our culture in a positive way. Loved his toughness and effort. Hopefully it rubbed off on guys like McDowell furphy and elmarko, hopefully we keep them around.
The problem with the portal, is for every transfer that goes well, there is one that doesn't. And they do impact recruiting freshman, and other players leaving your program. It really is a double edged sword, and constant turnover isn't a positive

I’ll remember Kevin as a heckuva talent who got bit by the injury bug.
Bryce Thompson’s got his ass pounded by us quite a bit since leaving.
TGIF was just poy of like the bumfuck Grand Canyon league
