Chiefs Offseason 2024
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Bean ran a 4.5 40 at Pro Day, which seems like he was either injured or sand-bagging it so the Chiefs or some other team in contact with him sneak him under the radar.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
I was kinda surprised by that number, too. I thought it would have been better.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
He’s not a quick twitch runner, takes him a minute to get up to speed.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Wondering if they’re thinking about having him kick and cover. The way it’s gonna work, having a guy who can cover is a huge huge advantage. Don’t want Butker doing it.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
I dunno about that ( unless somehow his leg is as powerful as Butkers ).
You can have 2 players in the return zone and the opposing players are going to be lined up similarly to rugby scrums.
My guess is those 2 players need to both be good at tossing and catching laterals.
So Kelce and this rugby guy.

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Does it need to be powerful though? If I understand the rules right, you really don’t want to kick it into the end zone.pdub wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 2:13 pm I dunno about that ( unless somehow his leg is as powerful as Butkers ).

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
That is true.
You'd think he'd be good enough to kick a football reasonably far enough and not off the field but
A. It's harder than you think to place the ball where you want it without it going out of bounds and putting them on the 40
B. I have no idea what you do in rugby and whether he is a player who does the kicking or scrumming or rugging

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Some rumors out there that Seattle is looking to move Tyler Lockett. They need the cap space but the team that gets him is only on the hook for like $4 mill this year. Not sure what it would take to get him but do not think it would be too much.
So Xavier Howard CB Miami released. At age 28 signed 5 year $90 million contract. Miami basically paid him $20 mill for two years and then cut him. The other part is the way they structured the contract he only hit the cap for less than $20 mill for the two years so now they have no Howard and they have a dead money cap hit of over $23 mill...ouch. This was the problem with Sneed.
There is some for sure WTF in the cap world. The Cowboys are so so screwed. They signed Dak to the 4 year $160 mill deal. However they structure it so this year which is year 4 his cap hit is $55 plus mill. Now they can not tag him next year and he could walk as a FA which if he does then they have a dead money cap of $40 mill. So they could sign an extension get some cap relief cause they have no cap space this year but they are not even talking. The Cowboys could restructure his deal without even talking to Dak to get some cap space but anything they do just increases the dead money cap if he walks next year. There is a reason the Cowboys have signed basically no one in FA.
The Bill's had to let a lot of vets go to get under the cap. Now the Bill's signed Josh to a 6 year $258 mill contract but again structured it to be cap friendly in beginning and ly cap was less than $20 mill while this year it jumps to $30 mill. But that's nothing cause next year it jumps to $60 mill. Haha toast.
By far the most tragic is the Browns. That contract for Watson is beyond stupid. Watson got 5 year $230 mill 100% guarantee contract. Then go out and structure it for less than $10 mill and less than $20 mill in year two to hit the cap. So they are left with 3 more years at a $64 mill cap hit that there is no real way to get out of. So they gave Juedy extension because this year his cap hit was $13 mill and they did not have it. The new deal is a less than $5 mill cap this year and when Juedy gets paid Cooper will be gone. So the Browns have no cap space this year but next year....the already over $50 mill...burnt toast.
Then there are the Saints. They keep pushing the vodoo cap moves and digging the whole bigger and bigger. Right now they are sitting at $74 million over next year. For that team yikes.

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
I'm very very much in favor of us just pushing the money down the road until Mahomes calls it quits.
I'll take 2 years of not being able to sign anyone at all, just putting out a JV team so we can win now.
Plus, if we suck super hard, we'll just collect picks and start it back up again.

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
For sure it is going to be painful when he hangs it up but your right. Mahomes had largest cap hit last year at $37 mill. Suppose to be same this year but the restructure pushes money. His cap hit next three years is like $66 mill but I'm with you just keep pushing it back.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Yup.
Make us owe him 175 mill the year after he retires.
We go 0-19 and just watch highlights of Mahomes in his six SB wins.

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Who wants to succeed Andy Reid? I have a feeling it will be after that $170M bill is printed. Not the best position, but maybe have the next Mahomes on a rookie deal. Sextus Rivers.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Reid ain’t coaching as long as Mahomes is playing.

Dallas police searching for Rashee Rice
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Why are our WRs morans?
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
"Dallas police say two drivers in a Corvette and Lamborghini were racing when they crashed, causing a 6-vehicle accident. Both drivers ran. A call sheet we obtained lists Kansas City Chiefs' Rashee Rice as the suspected Corvette driver."

The only reason to run is if you are impaired and would rather have a leaving the scene charge than a DUI charge.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 11:28 amWhy would you/he run?

WRs are limitlessly stupid it seems. Hard to give them big pay days.
