road record by season:

24-25: 0-2 (so far)
23-24: 3-7
22-23: 7-4
21-22: 6-4
20-21: 4-6
19-20: 10-1
18-19: 3-8
17-18: 7-3
16-17: 10-1
15-16: 7-3
14-15: 5-6
13-14: 5-6
12-13: 7-3
11-12: 8-2
10-11: 9-1
09-10: 9-2
08-09: 6-4
07-08: 8-3
06-07: 8-2
05-06: 6-2
04-05: 6-4

I only went back to my freshman year cuz I dunno if KU had basketball before that.

but yea...hopefully the Hunter/KJ/Dajuan-led teams can turn it around and go down as something more than among the/maybe thee worst road team in the Self era.
I think it began after the heart episode. Multiple former players have said he is noticeably softer with the players, which seems to translate to the court.

ah, got it.

I still hesitate to point to that, or at least that alone, as the post-heart episode era is indistinguishable from the Hunter/KJ/Dajuan era.

you have to be soft these days, and coddle their fragile little egos. Otherwise they run off to the next school with no repercussions or penalties

The good old days are gone. I don't see how a team like 2008 can be built in this environment. Especially when you consider Sherron and Cole went on to become an AAs in the coming years.

Lemme go for devil’s advocate downer pity:

I think it could be just as easy if not maybe even easier to build a team like 2008 (see: Arthur’s dream)

We have doods in the pipeline who could go on to become AAs, and elite doods on their way next season who have future if not immediate AA potential of their own.

What we’re seeing thus far has been us leveraging the NIL environment only as far as building around the coach’s pet remnants of the de facto NCAA kiss of death recruiting era, plus doubling down on a questionable and controversial coach’s pet old school big from the portal, AA talent himself tho he is.

I don't think he had any reason to be scared off by the guys who scared him off. He'd have beaten them out based on what I've seen from him.

I can't remember the exact order that the pieces fell, but some combination of Elmarko Zeke Storr and Griffen.

You may be not including a name or two.

Isn’t Philon a pg?

He knew DH was going to be here when he committed originally. If that's what you're getting at.

DH and Philon could play together. Just like Zeke and DH do. In fact, I think Philon DH and Zeke could all 3 play together. We've played 3 guards plenty of times.

ya know what i’ve got to say about kids that get “scared off”, or don’t want to compete for minutes?

bye, Felicia

i’m not in the practice of pining over guys that don’t want to be here
