Re: Another mass shooting

i don't believe anybody wants to disarm the good folks.
I wish that were true but I've seen hundreds of posts of people saying "everyone should turn in their guns so we can do something"
Are you...saying that if we ignore the problem, it'll go away? That one day - it's like a miracle - it will disappear?randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:41 am I also feel that the endless attention these shooters get actually adds to the problem. It unintentionally glorifies them. A lot of these shooters are kids that slipped through the cracks of society and feel lost and forgotten. This is their way of reminding us that they are still here
Before the sun sets today, you'll see people cravenly turn this tragedy into an opportunity to target the freedoms of only an "undesirable" segment of our society.
I think we should try identifying the problem first. Guns have always been around in this country... mass shootings became a more prevalent thing around the turn of the century. What changes were happening in our society that has suddenly started creating all these psychopathic desiresjfish26 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:46 amAre you...saying that if we ignore the problem, it'll go away? I'll just drop a pin in this one. You can smell out the bad faith a goddamn mile away:randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:50 amWhat freedoms do trans people not have? What rights do others have that they don't
So, you're saying that maybe the founding fathers didn't have all of this in mind?randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:52 amI think we should try identifying the problem first. A person could just as easily mow down a crowd with a runaway vehicle and kill hundreds too. Guns are a tool, not a root cause of the evil
It's a way to protect myself (and others) from getting shot. Is it not?randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:36 am Humans are violent, always have been and always will be. I know you guys mean well, but disarming yourselves is NOT the way to protect yourself from violence. So naive
I have not ignored it at all. I'm over here predicting the future: one of your shit shovelers will be out there, if they're not already, using this tragedy to say that gender dysphoria is a mental illness that should be disqualifying for gun ownership.randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:59 am Jfish. not inside a school they can't.randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:58 am A person could just as easily mow down a crowd with a runaway vehicle and kill hundreds too. Guns are a tool, not a root cause of the evil
Is that a serious question? If you really fucking care (and I know you don't) then perhaps you should spend some time asking and talking to a Trans person.randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:59 am Jfish. What freedoms don't trans people have??? You ignored that part
Not one person on this planet has that freedom. Everyone gets ridiculed. And its not a freedom. Try againRainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 10:05 amIs that a serious question? I'll start off with a simple answer to your question. The freedom to exist without some assholes ridiculing them because they are "different".
What in the world are you talking about? My god, culture war issues converging is causing your brain cells to play bumper cars or something.
