where was it the other day that I read about some journalist who got access to the Obama White House in 2014. They said the place was buzzing, with all hands on deck, everyone there devoting time and resources and rallying against a common issue.
what's the issue?
"Ebola. We're trying like the heck to make sure this doesn't become a problem in Merica."

Are we all have to get in the railroad cars?

If your part of the world is like my part of the world, and I bet it is, it is very random what is considered essential. And what is not.
That is mostly what has us Michiganders frustrated.

I think it's pretty simple: if staying at home presents merely a personal inconvenience, then just stay home.
The numbers we're seeing say this is working. The research we're seeing says we're not going to be out of the woods until perhaps this time next year.
It's everyone's job to keep the infection level manageable until then. The
only surefire way is to minimize interaction.

If I can digest the current explanation so far it is:
The China-lab-man created a virus in a lab so the entire world could blame a bunch of deaths on a virus in order to control the November United States election and ultimately have the executive branch rescind the 2nd Amendment, take away guns, and do what they've always wanted: complete control of the least populated rural counties in America.
And I can't even fucking play golf.

And Michigan is suffering mightily right now. If Michhawk is currently safe, that is a good thing. It won't take much leniency to unleash harsh numbers throughout Michigan right now.

Yes. The clear progress staying home is making is MORE reason to stick with it, not less.

One thing is for sure, bio-war labs study everything. We better tie national defense to national healthcare for pandemic defense. Thousands dead aand an economy in shambles is a bad look for national defense preparedness,

Right, he said his county of 80,000
only had 300 confirmed cases. That's 50% higher rate than the national average.

That is a tiny ass county. WTF have they been doing with each other to have so many infected?

If someone can practice their craft without putting anyone else in harms way, they should be allowed to.
If someone can participate in an activity without putting anyone else in harms way, they should be allowed to.

" . . . it is one more piece in a jigsaw which is slowly building up a picture of a virus which may be far more prevalent — and possibly far less deadly — than was at first believed. As has been argued here before, knowing the general level of infection in the population is absolutely crucial because this informs both the virulence and the mortality rate of the infection. If only a small percentage of the population have had the virus, then it might be worth continuing with lockdown policies. But if SARS-Cov-2 is already endemic in the population there is nothing we can do to stop it but no great reason to try to stop it, either: it has already ripped its way through the population with only a small proportion showing any symptoms."

In other words, the US royally fucked up testing.

That Stanford study is interesting. But it still estimates an infection rate of about 3%.
I wouldn't come to that authors conclusion with a 3% infection rate.

Yes. Fixing that is the only way out. And actually using our national resources to race to a vaccine.

"a bit over reactionary"
I don't think people should be fined or arrested for going outside.
I think areas that are not dense in population should be able to make their own determinations on closings.
I think the NCAA tournament could have happened without fans.
Sorry that my opinion differs on the subject.

At this moment in time, I cannot think of anything more ESSENTIAL than someone or some business that can practice their craft safely without putting anyone else in harms way. If you can do that, and keep your little portion of the economy rolling without putting anyone else in harms way, you are essential in my book.

But it's also a bit over reactionary and has been a suppression of freedom.
And the more important question to ask is "Why?"
It's not a coup.
Tin foil isn't being hoarded, you should be able to get some more.
