1st team AA and The Athletic is projecting him as lottery.

Take it to the 15-16 lineup thread.

Ah Dangit.
That was in response to Diallo.
Yeah sure maybe he woulda developed better had he stayed in college longer.
(Maaaaybe)
Or maybe he woulda had more minites and a bigger role had he not started his KU season in the NCAA doghouse. (For a goddamn 6th grade report card)
But he’s also made over $5 mil playing hoops now, and he’s only 25. I’d say he’s done ok for himself.

Now I can stop referencing Buddy Hield when illy and co say there isn't a good reason to return to college as an upperclassman.
Ochais path is why CBB is great.

Ya. He has changed my perception quite a bit. I still think it's different for every player, but i have softened my stance. Not everyone makes a leap, but if you don't make a leap in college then you weren't going to in the pros anyway.
And hell, CB is going to have the same choice to make this offseason.
It's important to improve your draft stock obviously, but it's also important to actually get better at basketball. That is what pays the future dividends.

Diallo shoulda got more clock here ( ncaa partly to blame here ) and I agree he shoulda stayed one more year...but hes locked onto a NBA career so you cant say he made a wrong decision.
But with 4 years he'd have become a better player than he has in the pros all that time imo. Hindsight is always 20/20, but he was just too raw to survive on developing with pro trainers in empty gyms.

We can't forget how much friendlier the rules are now, though. And not just NIL.
Players can have agents now helping them out through the combine, the dates have changed when they have to declare, and if someone doesn't get drafted, they can return to school. Just better informed decisions and softer landing spots.
Och was also unique here that he just never had a normal season to really show what kind of player he is/can be.

Often it's about that initial pick though...guaranteed money for multiple seasons.

Does JCL really count considering there were no cameras back then to really know how good he was?

The initial scouting report of Mitch was on floppy disk.

Imagine the converse contract he'd have had if they had NIL back then.

I don’t think anyone got any money at all for playing back then.
Pretty sure they were just compensated with peaches.
Which makes sense, cuz once they took them outta the basket, what else were they supposed to do with them?

I was in my 30s when I figured out that that Presidents of the United States of America song isn't really about peaches
