Wally/lobs - here’s a question for you. Are you outraged by the death(s) you attribute ostensibly to vaccine, and want the vaccinations to discontinue? Are you similarly outraged by other causes of death with a much more reliable attributable cause? Gun violence for example?? What are you doing about that? As one wag put it, one of the positive outcomes of school closings due to COVID-19 is no school shootings!
Since that is one of the rare times someone here asked some fair questions, I will answer.
I just don't want to see people die when they don't need to. What I want is for the news and government to be
honest about the vaccine -- it is definitely not safe for everyone and lethal to some. What you are seeing now is the same old lies from the media and our government just so they can try to force everyone to take the vax.
Your second question is more tricky. Gun violence is a problem, and I can't deny that. I am angry when I see that people are shot for whatever reason in a church. I was very angry when I saw David Dorn (a black police officer) shot and murdered in St. Louis by another BLM/Antifa person. Other blacks were killed by gun violence in the riots of last year too. The problem with trying to stop gun violence is that the gun is just one way to kill people. If you ban guns, people can find other weapons (a bat, knife, etc.). At some point, you realize this is more of a people problem, not an object problem. I'm not for banning guns, because they can be good for self defense or hunting, but I would be in favor of banning automatic weapons that really serve no purpose in our day to day lives.
"I just don't want to see people die when they don't need to".
* Says the guy who was hoarding PPE when there were MANY people in THIS country in dire need of PPE including but not limited to healthcare workers.
"What I want is for the news and government to be honest about the vaccine".
* Brownie points for you! Except I don't like when people say "the news" in the context in which they do. To me, "news" is sort of an inanimate object.
I don't use enough news sources to pass judgement on what "the news" as a whole is (and isn't) honest about in terms of the vaccine but I have to assume the majority of "the news" is positive in terms of the purpose of the vaccine. As far as our Government, again I admit my ignorance. I don't know what the Government is and isn't saying in regards to the vaccine.
"it is definitely not safe for everyone and lethal to some".
* "definitely" lethal to some? Perhaps but I find it interesting when people minimize the affects of Covid but then choose to maximize the POSSIBLE (but not definitive) affects of the vaccine.
"What you are seeing now is the same old lies from the media and our government just so they can try to force everyone to take the vax".
* I don't know what the "same old lies" are. My hope is that the media and government would encourage every American to get the vaccine - but not to "FORCE" anyone.
"I was very angry when I saw David Dorn (a black police officer) shot and murdered in St. Louis by another BLM/Antifa person".
* I am confused. What do you mean "ANOTHER" BLM/Antifa person? Was Dorn a BLM/Antifa person?
Do you know for a fact that Stephan Cannon (the person who allegedly killed him) was a "member" of BLM/Antifa? Which by the way, BLM and Antifa are two very different "entities". Why group them together in regards to who killed Dorn?
"The problem with trying to stop gun violence is that the gun is just one way to kill people".
* That's "the problem" with trying to stop gun violence? As Plano would say - "JFC"!
Bad analogy but it's kind of like saying let's not try to eradicate Covid because there are other viruses and diseases that can kill people.
"If you ban guns, people can find other weapons (a bat, knife, etc.)".
* Sure people can find other weapons - that have other useful purposes.
The sole purpose of using a gun is to put a bullet in to someone/something. It's a lot easier to kill multiple people in a very short period of time with a gun than is it with a bat or a knife. True or false?
"At some point, you realize this is more of a people problem, not an object problem".
* Yes, it takes a person to use a gun but the object is in fact part of the problem. No gun, no one gets shot. Pretty simple concept.
"I'm not for banning guns, because they can be good for self defense or hunting, but I would be in favor of banning automatic weapons that really serve no purpose in our day to day lives".
* I'm not for banning guns either - for those who don't use them to kill innocent people and who truly NEED them.
I would guesstimate that 90% (or more) of gun shot victims were shot by people who did not NEED to own their guns.
