I don't know if he's been back to Lawrence. I did a quick Google search and didn't find anything.
Perhaps someone else can/will chime in.

I have never seen any social media stuff of him in Lawrence.

He's a unique dude.

I wasn't aware that he ever had come back. It's made me wonder if he had a bad experience at KU?

or he wasn't around long enough for it to have much meaning or any investment in the program? like, my first job was being an umpire at westurban in wichita for 1 summer, and it was fun and no bad experiences (aside from helicopter parents which i laughed at) but i never go back there to watch the kids play because it was just a blip.

Yes, AFTER he signed. He had choices and chose Kansas.
Kid rightfully thought he would be a star at Kansas. He struggled. Must have been frustrated. Not sure why that would make him sour on Kansas but even though he wasn't NBA "ready", he took off as quickly as he possibly could - other than quitting during the season.
My worthless guess is at some point he returns to Lawrence - for some occasion.
