Brocoach: any idea how many members of the Afghani military died helping us the last 20 years?
A handful or two?
A handful or two?
I wasn't attempting to get the exact number right; merely to contrast that it is a significantly smaller number of people than the number of US citizens killed in this country that some here are claimingBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 2:37 pmHoly fuck.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 2:33 pmThe same people who think that 600,000 people dying from covid isn't a big deal also seem to feel that a handful of Afghani citizens dying because they helped us out over the course of the last 20 years should lead to our President being impeached or removed from office via the 25th Amendment.
And Illy is just wandering around looking for an opportunity to score a zinger on someone because that makes him feel good about himself.
A handful?
No big deal. Only a handful?
Willful ignorance.
See, this is what an actual strawman argument is. I hope your example will help you better identify them in the future.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 2:38 pm Brocoach: any idea how many members of the Afghani military died helping us the last 20 years?

For someone who spent the entire last 4 years screaming about all the GOP whataboutisms you sure do use that tactic a lot yourself now that it's your side under fire.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 3:00 pmI wasn't attempting to get the exact number right; merely to contrast that it is a significantly smaller number of people than the number of US citizens killed in this country that some here are claimingBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 2:37 pmHoly fuck.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 2:33 pm

is "not a big deal". Perhaps I overstated it, I have no idea. Feel free and provide me the exact number that I am willfully ignorant about since you appear to have those details handy.
Except all i did was ask a question. But nice try.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 3:03 pmSee, this is what an actual strawman argument is. "A straw man is a form of argument and an informal fallacy of having the impression of refuting an argument, whereas the real subject of the argument was not addressed or refuted, but instead replaced with a false one."
82K people, huh. So, you're saying the evacuation is going pretty well.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 3:23 pm If it's only a handful in danger why have we evacuated over 82k people?
Don't they know this is no big deal?
How many people have died at the hands of the Taliban since we began this evacuation? I find a few links to stories about 9 people here, 6 there, 7 somewhere else. But like I said, feel free to provide me any details you have with more specific numbers if you insist on getting hung up on the specific number.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 3:21 pm What you said about a handful of people dying was an ignorant statement. Just own it. Don't double down on the dumb. You're better than that bro.
Again with the strawman. No one said anything about only a handful being in danger.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 3:23 pm If it's only a handful in danger why have we evacuated over 82k people?

A question that had nothing to do with my statement that you attempted to tie it back to.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 3:20 pmExcept all i did was ask a question. No. I am saying 82k people have had to be evacuated. And according to those 2 members of congress and other intelligence sources there are still so many left that there is no way we get everyone out by the 31st.jhawks99 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 3:29 pm82K people, huh. not sure it’s twocoach tho
Some of you seem to care more about the perceived failures of my posts far more than the multple failures (and lies) from your dear leader in Afghanistan.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 4:01 pm you enjoy having so many people point out all the failures of your posts?
