Elmarko has been better than he's got credit for. Freshman guards don't often excel at KU

Hunter hates ketchup. Makes him ok in 99's book.

If I'm out of salsa, ketchup with a dash of siracha works on scrambled eggs ...

He's a big reason why every team we play seems to shoot so well from 3. Yeah they are excited to play kansas and are amped for the game..

But hunter is sooooo slow. His slow slow ability to rotate on defense in recover in pick and rolls forces everyone to help farther off their man and leaves outside shooters just a little farther open

And that’d be ok if he was also a dominant rim protector but he’s definitely not that.

Hunter has good shooting touch. And that's nice. But in my eyes the main job of a center is to anchor your defense. He is terrible at that

He just doesn’t move with intention or care.

You can see players who fail on offense try so hard to get back and reverse play. He never does this. He jogs everywhere. He is the Valderamma in his MLS years of college basketball.

This isn't unique to this year. Our defense is designed to take away easy baskets, but is vulnerable to 3s in some ways.

It is.
It’s just not good enough in the interior where we can feel ok with our elite center doing elite center things.

Spoiled.

But I think DMac was better on help than Hunter.

HD is 5th in the big 12 in blocks.

Yes, DMac was better on help D.

McCormack had 33 blocks his senior year.

HD has 27 already this year...

I guess you’re right.
But despite the stats I think I’d rather standing straight Landen Lucas on defense than I don’t know where I am nor do I care Hunter.

Dok.
Lucas.
Embiid.
Withey.
Cole.
DJax and Kaun.

And…Udeh I think would have been better ( on defense ) for sure.

I'd have definitely agreed prior to this season....but his struggles this year at TCU make me wonder if Self knew something we didn't.

Plus, Bidunga.

Meh.
TCU has zero experience with good bigs.
What he does at another school means so little to me.

You could watch Udeh last season and see Udoka.

He kinda is.
Or…he’s not a top 25 coach.
Name his elite bigs.

Dont say Lampkin.

Udehs numbers per minute in every major category have gone down…I’d say there’s no way that would have happened here…in fact, I think your boy Harris would have been living it up with Udeh.

706 games coached.
481 wins.
68.1% win percentage.

That's pretty good.

He's a top 25 coach in the country.
