If he didn't reach, would they have gotten the ball back via a 10 second turnover?
It wasn't dumb, just risky and it didn't work. That is called a foul 99 times out of 100.
1. taking the ball away is called a steal and is a legal play.
2. Getting the ball with no defense in front of you when you need to score is good. Much better than getting the ball out of bounds with the defense able to fully set up.
3. you trust the refs that called thay clean steal a foul to actually blow the whistle for a 10 second call? I dont.
Great play that potentially saves a terrible game negated by a terrible call.
If any of this doesn't make sense to you then see my previous post.

It was a stressful situation, and he's a freshperson. DeMario likely acted on reflex, like many in his situation would.
It might have been a clean steal, but the ref didn't think so, and unfortunately, the replays on ESPN+ sucked so badly it was impossible to tell.

Kansas just allowed West Virginia to score their season high in points.
The refs!

I think it was a reach in foul for 2 reasons
1) he lunged forward with both hands. Got the ball with one hand and maybe a little arm. Looks like his off hand also made contact with the ball handler who fell after he was nudged
2) They called a reach in foul

im not blaming the refs for the whole game. Just one very important moment in the game.

But why even discuss one potentially bad call? We all know we got thoroughly worked over on the boards and the other team shot the ball better than they will any other game this season
The rebounding is the frustrating part. Lazy ass 7 footer not boxing out or hustling is what pisses me off the most

we're discussing all of those things. Keep up.
Just so happens that one call was pretty fucking consequential. But I'm done now because this is fucking stupid.

Furphys rebounding issues comes from being a freshman. Needs to bulk up a little and get better at boxing out and absorbing contact
Ironically, he has been a good rebounder for us on the offensive end, where he can use his 6'9 frame and athletic ability to crash the boards, he's for other guards to box out.
But on the flip side he is awful at defensive rebounding

The foul on Furphy’s three point shot that wasn’t called, cost them points.

I've signed the papers and had them notarized so that in the event Randy starts making more sense than I do, it triggers an intervention.

I think people are only focusing on the stripping motion and ignoring the rest of the contact. The refs made the right call, and it was a call they had to make
Elmarko was just an over excited freshman who made an aggressive mistake. Wvu was in the process of turning it over for not advancing the ball past half court quick enough
Self hated the call because of the timing of it. Live action he felt it should have been a 10 second violation. But unfortunately his freshman guard fouled 9 seconds into it and the officials were forced to make a call they probably didn't want to

Shirley tonight is indeed a fucking idiot, joining already established idiot randy.
Slow it down.
Elmarko gets all ball, it’s stripped, and THEN the WVU player falls into Elmarkos leg. And makes a MEAL out of it.
Case closed.
Shirley fucking idiot for 1 hour 28 more minutes.
randy? Unfortunately, life.
