Close to 2/3rds of Republican voters think Trump is a good candidate even if convicted of a felony.
A vote for Trump is quite literally now a vote for a person who not just believes but argues in front of the Supreme Court that the President is supreme over the law.

I'd assume that close to 2/3rds of Dem voters would vote for a rock if that was their nominee. We're at the point now where the majority of people aren't voting for a candidate; they are voting for the party's nominee no matter who they are.

Maybe we will be fortunate to see in November. I have a feeling that a sizable chunk of Trump’s voters would not in fact vote for a non-Trump R nominee.

Do you expect Republicans to be the only ones to apply some sort of candidate quality review? Most people have simply decided who they are voting for and nothing they learn between now and November seems likely to change that.

I just fucking hate both parties so goddamn much.
That is a beautiful thought from a beautiful person.
But before we reform the system it would be good if there was can electoral repudiation of the party that wants to burn the whole democratic process down and install an autocratic menace as supreme ruler and declare a theocracy.
And no; no one can convince me that Biden is the existential threat to our democratic process that trumpty dumpty is. trumpty already attempted a coup and is publicly sucking his idol Putin's dick every chance he gets.
I hate the party that finds this is OK and wants to give him the keys to the nuclear football again; much, much, more.

Dunno bout this.
I’m a democrat and I won’t vote for Biden.
I’d bet there’s more than 1/3rd of me.

I agree with that. I think this settles with a heavily-disillusioned, heavy-armed 10-15% non-participating bloc.
Not great!

You think that more than 1/3 of those who identify as Democrat will not vote for Biden? That’s nonsense.

I guess I meant there’s more than 1/3rd of me that wouldn’t just mindlessly vote for a candidate as terrible as Trump just because he was in my party.

Anecdotally, I guess I’m in that 1/3 to a degree; I was a nearly straight-line R voter until 2016.

i’d happily vote for a non-Biden, or even a non-Dem, if they had a chance in hell at winning. i doubt i’d ever vote for a pub
$ and the DNC/RNC seem to limit our collective options

I’d probably vote for 64 year old Mitt Romney ( age when he ran ) over 81 year old Biden.

To be fair, there appears to be a larger percentage of people who are OK with terrible things in the Republican Party.

Me too. There is no way that my conscience could allow me to vote for a braggart, cunt troll.
Biden gets my vote, as would anyone else not caked in 30 lbs of orange base.

Not voting Biden begs the question of what internment camp you want to go to. That is unless you are a Christo fascist rube working in the chicken parts industry.

It’s crazy.
It would be absolutely horrible if Trump wins. End of our democracy horrible.
But, his losing might even be worse.
