Not a bad idea to get your ass to a podiatrist and let him/her handle it.

My remedy was from a general practitioner.

He told me never to cut it off, it would just grow in again only worse.

Yea, ive heard that too....just means you gotta cut it more often before it can put in roots

I got a couple real bad ones in HS and haven't really had a problem since.

I like your remedy the most...fist bump. I don't like inflicting pain on myself, especially when it's already tender and sore.

I felt I needed (and had) a Podiatrist treat mine. That's why I suggested shindig do the same.
If he can save himself the trip/s and the money by not going to a Podiatrist, fantastic!

The main thing is when you do cut your toenail again, cut it straight across, don't try to round it off.

I just was pointing out that mine wasn't just a home remedy, that it was a physician's advice. I don't think the town I grew up in had a podiatrist in it.

Im in boots 90% of my time. Work boots, cowboy boots, muck boots, hunting boots. I dont think that helps either.

ok, I feel a little better now. I washed my foot really good with soap and a scrubby thing and then was able to cut just a little off with my nail clipper (after I soaked it with rubbing alcohol) and then put a small piece of cotton under the nail after soaking it with rubbing alcohol. I then put a bandaid on with some neosporin...my eyes are still watering. And only wearing flip flops...lol. Attempt again before I go to bed.

Dammit. I think the dog got into a skunk last night. He mustve avoided a direct spray but he definetely got some wafted on him. Baking soda hydrogen peroxide and dawn dishsoap on the menu
