The Republican primary results tell me what we need to know about Republican voters and how much they value our democracy. They have had ample opportunities to flush this turd down the toilet and instead they choose to overwhelmingly support him.

Let me help you. He did not say they were stupid. But it is obvious that many rubepublican voters would like the democratic process to go away if it means their dicktators are in charge.
They know what they want and they support the authoritarians getting if for them, but Alabama says the law of unintended consequences is a brutal bitch. Wait until they find out they won't be able to buy rubbers any more.
I hope that helps.

Watch this space.
I certainly would expect this guy to make a deal, and I certainly think his life is in danger at the hands of those who would like him not to talk.
But “those” are not who the MAGAs would say did it.

NY Post writer on Smirnov: “I think if he isn't Epstein’ed in jail, if he isn’t coerced to have a plea deal and keep his mouth shut, if his lawyers are allowed to mount a defense in court, I think it’ll be a very different story than the one that we’re seeing in the indictment.”

Eh, OK. I am not telling them what to do. In the spirit of Maya Angelou's "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time" quote, I am just being sure to pay attention when Republican voters that overwhelmingly support Trump show me who they are.
What I hear from Republican voters doesn't align with what they do. What they do shows who they are.

Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee
Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of Japhy
And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier
In that case for Japhy
To dissolve the people
And elect another?

From your link.
Analysis (ai): This poem confronts the disconnect between government and people, particularly in the aftermath of political unrest. By satirically suggesting that the government dissolve the people, the author exposes the absurdity of holding the people accountable for their government's failures. "The Solution" differs from Brecht's other works by taking an explicitly political stance, highlighting his growing disillusionment with communism. The poem is also characteristic of the post-war era, where disillusionment and political challenges were prevalent. It reflects Brecht's lifelong commitment to social justice and his belief in the power of art to critique the status quo.
I just find it absurd that some people review the performance of Trump and the symptoms and backlash of Trumpism and say "hey, let's roll it back with that guy". I hear all the time that the GOP wants to move on from Trumpism but the real world data doesn't seem to reflect that.

The Senate GOP wouldn't convict him.
The House GOP won't pass a
border bill because of him.
The GOP primary voters are overwhelmingly saying, "hey, let's roll it back with this guy."
The GOP has spoken.

We're a giant melting pot of people, some of whom have ideas on how shit should be in this country that I just agree with and some that have ideas that I feel are genuinely destructive to our society as a whole. I live here in bright red GOP land Omaha, NE and, while I disagree with many of the policies and laws of the conservative majority, do not feel that what they are trying to do is destructive to our democracy. But I do feel that what Trump and the hardcore base of his supporters are doing is very much damaging our nation and our society.
So spare me with the "you hate anyone different than you while claiming to want a democracy" bullshit. It's lazy no matter what obscure poem you wrap it in.

I said no such thing.
"The Republican primary results tell me what we need to know about Republican voters and how much they value our democracy. They have had ample opportunities to flush this turd down the toilet and instead they choose to overwhelmingly support him."
All that says is that the results of the Republican Primary show me what GOP voters think of what Trump has done and wants to do, no matter what they say otherwise.

Active disinformation and savaging education is lethal to what democracy remains. Let us work on improving this dilemma, even if it means referencing American poets.

Voting to remove democracy is only ironically democratic and will be much lamented as the tyrant flails away at those who empowered him

are those STILL supporting trump at this point doing anything to suggest they actually would prefer a functioning, constitutional democracy over an authoritarian/autocratic state?

Maybe the fact that Trump, despite being a former President, has failed to make it to even 60% of the vote in any of these Primaries so far should be viewed as "encouraging", I don't know. I don't have enough knowledge of what would be expected of a President in this case largely because I don't recall there ever being a former President who lost re-election and then ran again to compare it to.
I just see thousands of items that should each be disqualifiers, each more heinous than the last that just never end up getting rid of him. He's the ultimate unsquishable cockroach.
I am just so done with this era of Trumpism. The hatred and nauseating, vile repulsiveness of it have worn me out.
