DC and HD, please forgive me. We all know I am mentally slow.
I'm not understanding your responses to ousdahl. Has he said he supports Biden?
I despise Donald Trump. That doesn't mean Joe is "my guy". He's not.

Again, the rules are the rules. I don't make them. I just play by them.

It’s a binary proposition, like it or not.

Interesting responses. Thanks.

Moving on......
I fully expect if Trump loses the election, he will claim voter fraud and call for a "complete" investigation. I'm wondering if Biden loses, if he will do the same.
I think I mentioned yesterday that while Trump bitches about mail in ballots, I wonder why he doesn't mention in person voting can also be fraudulent. I expect that to come soon - and I'm someone who agrees that identification should be necessary to vote. Meanwhile, do people really trust that every polling place in every district of every county in every state provides 100% accurate results? I don't. I'm not a conspiracy guy by nature but I admit I don't fully trust the voting system in this country.

Yknow the crazy thing. Im not entirely sure either of these men want to be president. Trump never expected to win, he just threw his hat out there and somehow it hooked, hed rather be playing golf and teeeting about how bad the current president is. Joe was ready to get out of politics and back to his family before he was propped up by the dems (no reason why that I can think of)

I've often thought the same thing. Especially about trump.

Reasons why Biden might "want to be president":

1. Biden has run for president twice before, in 1988 and in 2008. Perhaps the fire still burns.

2. One of his son Beau's dying wishes was for him to run in 2106 to prevent another Clinton from becoming president

But, imo, the most likely reasons Biden decided to run are:

3. He wasn't comfortable that someone as liberal as Bernie would be the nominee in 2020

4. He probably thought, like many democrats, that if "someone as liberal as Bernie" did become the nominee, it's likely they would lose to Trump.

Biden wasn't my first or second or third choice, but other than age and its sequelae, there's no rational comparison between what a Joe Biden presidency means for the future of our country, and what a second Trump term portends.

It's not in any way, shape, or form, even a "choice".

By not choosing, you choose.

Anything, e.g., abstaining, that makes a second Trump term more likely is something I could never participate in.

Biden wasn't my first or second choice either. But I agree.

My first choice was Innslee.

I wont abstain. But i wont vote for either of the current options. Same thing as 2016.

Don't blame anyone but yourself when your dying small town goes out of business.

The people who most affect the things we live with on a daily basis are those who serve at the Asst. Secretary and Special Assistant level. Those people in the Trump gang of grifters are incompetent or out and out crooks. You want your small town to not move forward at all and to continue to be propped up by massive transfers of wealth from communities willing to actually do stuff--that's less likely with the governance by grifter that you're supporting by your abstention from voting.

It makes a vast difference who serves at all those lower levels--whatever I might think about Biden, I'd guess his advisers will be better than Jared or Stephen Miller and those filling the lower positions might actually be more than recent graduates or party planners.

In all honesty, would anyone in their right mind want the job?

Youre right I should beg for federal help and a bigger federal role. Thanks for your concern but my small town amd me will be fine, we're tougher than you would like to give us credit for.

No, you're not. You don't want change or progress for your town at all, you've said so. So, you shouldn't want the huge state subsidy to education, take away that state-funded excess prison and send that money to Portland and its suburbs, who've paid the taxes that support your dying town. Move all the state offices that take up real estate space in your town to the larger city that provides the tax base. Move the timberland that's being carried on the books at agricultural tax evaluations into its actual value. Oh, and you don't need the Medicaid funds for your rural hospital or that nursing home--take that and the jobs that go with it out.

Then, let's see how tough your town is.

You seemed quite devoted to that expensive, unneeded prison that provides welfare jobs for your friends. Your town could pay for that? Your town could pay for your entire school system? The entire cost of building roads? The entire cost of your hospital and nursing homes?

And still not have to change at all, as you want?

And from what I read, TDub is a Jayhawk, not a product of colleges with roots in slavery, segregation and racism.
