That’s pretty cool.

Social interaction, whoa.

Being in even some physical proximity is powerful.

Went fishing with an old friend a couple weeks back. So good to see him, but sucked to have to explain how to rig up a fly rod and fish it from 6+ feet.

And you’re thinking about the closest in a while, not the furthest.

Another friend called tonight and I was bragging about how much I’ve been running. He shot back with a push-up challenge, first one to 100, FaceTime tomorrow, dangit being in shape sucks.

Why’s the pandemic have to do this to us?? Fucking FaceTime for fucks sake!

Why can’t it just be back like normal, when I could get challenged to pushups and wait til we were in person to chicken out, no pun intended?

Just remember, those protestors you see on the news, and the psychhawk's of the world that say this is all just a political takeover: they're the minority. The majority of us are out here worried about our neighbors' health and doing our parts.

Thanks CNB, that made my day. The "farmer hunkered down in N.E. Kansas" totally surprised, and got me. The letter, the mask, the gesture, totally got me.

The first thing I saw on TV this morning was a report from the WHO, which they have subsequently retracted, (see screen shot at bottom of page), that if true, would be devastating news:

"There is currently no evidence that people who have recovered from COVID19 and have antibodies are protected from a second infection."

Here's one screenshot of the original tweets that caused the, justifiable, concern:

Not related...but I wonder how long we could sustain being shutdown before the food supply got so scarce that chaos breaks out?
Not terrible long. Many farmers are currently destroying portions of their crops. Major processing plants (lamb wesston for instance) have cut their orders amd contracts by 25-50%. When the freezer storages run out we will see shortages of some things. We will burn thru the stores before we are able to regrow crops. Once that supply chain is broken there are consequences.
Thankfully, the dominant regional grocery chain hereabouts, Publix, is trying to support the local growers by buying their excess and donating it to a nation food bank. Makes it harder for me to hate the fact that they're almost the only game in town, at least in Orlando, and Sarasota.

I missed this comment. That is a very cool approach. I'm not sure its a sustainable model even for the medium term but it is cool idea.

The manager basically said “you don’t have to eat here if you don’t want to”. I wasn’t thinking drug-resistant bugs back then but I wasn’t too far off. Just imagine!
I remember reading about one physician in a hospital in Ohio or Illinois who made it his mission to reduce MRSA in his hospital and banned white coats as one of the first steps. Was impressed at the changes in just a few years with hospital staff wearing disposable gowns with MRSA suspected patients, but surprised to see some still donning their white coats.

Are you surprised?

People are given guidelines. They are too stupid to understand them. It manifests in many ways. This is one of them.

I've seen people constantly touch their masks, wear them below their nose, below their mouth, and seen people who take them off to talk. None of that surprised me.

But, yeah, wearing one when you don't need to surprises me.

I know you are being facetious. Out of curiosity I just looked at average age/s of residents by states.
I never would have guessed that Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and West Virginia have a higher average age than Florida.
