Wow, I mentioned a couple of hours--who knew that Dorian would batter the Bahamas for 40+ hours?

Yeah that's crazy. Can't imagine being on those islands now with no food, running water, shelter, etc. The clean up alone is going to take months if not years.

Was a shit show in the northern suburbs of Chicago last night. Several villages with tornado sirens blaring.
Apparently no touch downs.
What blew my mind was watching the usual flight pattern of airplanes flying in to O'Hare. Those coming from the east flew directly in to the storm/s. It appeared lightning struck a plane as I was watching but this morning I couldn't find any mention of it happening.
I admit I probably would have freaked out if I was on that plane - and/or the other planes I was watching fly through the storm/s.

Dynamic temp swings this time of year. Daytime highs in the 60s and gorgeous, but getting seriously cold at night. Saw the first ice formed along the edges of the pasture pond this morning.

I think the high temp was below 90 once or twice this month and no rain at all. Finally, a little bit of a cool down and rain expected today.

Finally getting a little rain in the bluegrass. Lately it's been brown, crispy grass.

maybe 3 inches in the yard this morning. Super cold but the sun still melted much of it.
