Really hoping this vehicle is readily available in early 2023. I think I prefer the R1S, but the R1T also looks amazing.

This, in particular, makes the truck an attractive option.

Careful, they’ve been falling notably short on filling quotas. There’s also internal HR sorts of issues, apparently.

The vehicle itself seems quite nice, and stupidly outfitted with novelties.

Yeah, I've been following Rivian for a couple of years. Definitely some red flags along the way.

I saw my first and only one in Colorado back in October. They’re even sexier in person. Despite potential shortcomings, I was impressed by their partnership/collaboration with The Nature Conservancy.

My Camry was made 15 miles from my house. Many neighbors work there. Sounds America 1st to me.

Also, it's probably more American than a ford.

been that way for a while. i’d also imagine there really isn’t an exclusively American-made auto out there anymore. parts come from all over the world, obviously, so the whole idea us rather silly

i just find it a bit ironic is all

My folks are alll about “buy American” with cars. It comes with the territory of growing up in the rust belt just south of Detroit.

Their car is one of those little Cadillac crossover suv things. Dad was giving me the usual shit about me and my Asian truck, when I mention the El Paso angle. He checks, and finds out his caddy was built in Mexico.

Now, every time I get in his car, I comment that it smells like tacos.

The "Buy America" crowd usually just mean "Buy Things That Sound White"

In the context of my rust belt parents, buy American starts and ends with, if you’re gonna buy a car then it better be from one of the big 3 Detroit brands.

Casual racism.

You should just abandon trying to get laughs by posting things like that. It makes it harder to think you're genuine on topics related to race/racism.
