Self could use a random lottery to pick the line-up each game...Small Ball, Four Guards and a Big, 3Bigs and 2 PGs, 3PGs and 2 Wings, endless choices. This team would be fun to coach!
Except nobody actually coaches like that.
And 3 bigs (Dok, SDS, DMac) would be highly ineffective.

And I think he will. I think he's going to reduce his minutes by quite a bit due to the depth at the 5. Maybe a more fresh Dok is helpful with FT as well.
Dok has also slimmed down a whole heck of a lot which will help with conditioning and hopefully being able to be more mobile and stay out of foul trouble.
De Sousa coming back is so huge. Such a monster. Can play both post positions, which means in any lineup next to anyone on our roster. He should have more total minutes than Udoka this year.
I think he can play both positions as well, though I suppose we’ve really only seen him at the 5. He seems capable of at least defending 4s. And wasn’t he billed as a power forward recruit? How’s his jumper?
And yeah Silvio should get the most frontcourt minutes this season. I wonder how much he will play the 5, considering Dok and Mac both pretty much only play center, and neither are slouches.
Jumper is smoother than you'd think, although he's not going to take perimeter shots. Small sample size but 15/21 at the line is really good.

Forgot how literal your reading comprehension skills are....lots of options, fun to coach...better?

All of our players aren't created equally. We have 3 or 4 players who are going to start every single game next year. Dotson, Dok, Ochai for sure. SDS most likely as well....so maybe they could do a random draw lottery for the 5th spot? But those 4 are our best players, and they better be or we are in trouble.

Dotson for sure.
Dok, we can only hope.
Ochai...maaaaybe? But he plays a position with lots of options.
SDS I’d say is very likely. Dude should be a stud, and our most versatile big.
Next up is Garrett. Coach loves him, all defensive type player, relative upper classman, gonna play a lot.

Ochai as a maybe? LOL
What lots of options are you talking about as possibly being better than Ochai? Transfers or Freshman? We do this every summer and it's almost always the same result. the projected 1st round NBA draft pick who started games last year and has over a year worth of GAME experience and familiarity with our other returning/best players wins out.
I mean, it's not unthinkable to say that by the end of next year Ochai may be our best player. I think it'll be Dotson, but Ochai is likely (already is) to be the best pro prospect on our team and it's not a youth/raw talent thing, he's skilled and polished already (especially considering he was a freshman who almost took a redshirt).

The season really might hinge on whether he's a 40% guy from 3, or 30%.

Shit, if it's 40, he and KU are both hitting the lotto.

Give me 37% and i'm a happy man.
( unless that 37% is the highest 3pt % shooter we got on the team )

Guessing 3pt% will be down as a whole due to the new 3pt line.

Could be a Bill record low on 3PA.

For sure. Even with the line back, if he has shooters, he'll let them have a green light.
They don't have shooters, but with the line back, they have more space to work down low.

Shoot, yeah Och can (and should) prob be pencilled in at the wing.
I guess what makes me wonder is that he came out of nowhere, was not expected to play literally at all, and is still rather unproven.
And now we got plenty of other dudes we can say the same thing about. So who knows what the roster will look like down the stretch!

Imo this is what the roster will look like "down the stretch"... (ranked in order, not in positions)
Dotson
Ochai
Dok
SDS
DMac
Garrett
And 2 or 3 other rotation guys. It's pretty obvious what this roster will look like down the stretch outside of the positional battles for the 7th 8th and 9th spots in his 8-9man rotation. There's really not that much unknown imo, other than how good will the transfers/freshman will be which is almost always a toss up/wait and see/hope for the best type scenario it seems.

Not mentioned: yer boy Mitch.
Dok will start, but given his ft shooting along with our numerous lineup options otherwise available, he may not finish many games.

If our core 4 or 5 guys are as good as I think they're going to be, then I don't think any of our starters will be finishing about 50% of our games because we're going to be up 15pts+ on a lot of over matched opponents.
Dok not playing when other teams are fouling will only be about the last 2min of 10 or so games max.
I'm sure SDS will be in when opponents are fouling since he's a good free throw shooter.

Garrett may not start, but at least he's got a nice ride to stunt for the ladies.
If only he spent half as much time practicing his shooting as he does taking selfies for social media while showing off his platinum teeth and benz!
Gotta love it.
