End the season with 16 of last 25 at home, so maybe get in the groove early, and play in familiar territory on the back half. This season is going to be wild.

Re: Royals
Dozier has the rona.
Startling likely going to be starting RF for 2 weeks.

More likely that he's in CF, with Whit in RF.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 10:22 am Dozier has the rona.

Re: Royals
So, if you were wondering if the Royals could look worse, I guess the answer is a yes.
Re: Royals
I think one of the paths to the playoffs for the Royals was for the other teams to have an outbreak and Royals to stay healthy. It feels like Royals have been the hardest hit team by COVID, and it might get worse if there was contact. Royals might be losing players for a quarter of the season and have to jump in mid-season.
Re: Royals
I thought you could pray away the Covid!

Maybe 2021 is a good draft?NiceDC wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 2:55 pm I think one of the paths to the playoffs for the Royals was for the other teams to have an outbreak and Royals to stay healthy. Not the worst!

25. KC Royals
2019 record: 59-103
World Series odds: 100-1
"Best case: Jorge Soler leads the AL in homers and RBIs; Adalberto Mondesi establishes himself as baseball's most exciting player; and Brady Singer leads a young wave of Royals hurlers. Kansas City climbs a couple of games over .500 and challenges for an AL playoff slot into the season's final week.
Worst case: With Greg Holland and Trevor Rosenthal posting double-digit ERAs, the bullpen once again can't hold the few leads it gets, as Soler's 2019 breakout takes on the pallor of a career season and Mondesi's free-swinging ways threaten to torpedo his immense promise. Kansas City plummets to an MLB-worst 45 losses."

Re: Royals
If playoffs expand, we could have an early 2000's quality Royals team in the playoffs.
Re: Royals
As someone opposed to permanent playoff expansion, the best antidote would be a 26-34 team winning the World Series in this dumbass year.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 11:00 am If playoffs expand, we could have an early 2000's quality Royals team in the playoffs.
Re: Royals
Flags fly forever. I’d gladly let the royals take the World Series in a pandemic-shorten season to prove everyone’s point.
The 3-5-7 format is really going Jack with the post season as well. Early rounds could be bloodbaths it a team gets sick or rotations don’t line up well for certain favorites.

The inverse, of course, would encourage a more "true" champion.NiceDC wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 7:28 am Flags fly forever. I’d gladly let the royals take the World Series in a pandemic-shorten season to prove everyone’s point.

Meh. I saw Rany got bent out of shape over the same thing. Re: Royals
pdub's under/over Royals wins this season set at 11.5.
This is factoring in the possibility of the season just being cancelled at some point.

Royals open up with a record set against them.
14 k’s, no runs.

* EDIT>>>>>>
SORRY I posted this on the Royals thread. I thought it was the Baseball thread.
Early take on the 2020 MLB season.
It's JUNK.
Might as well crown the Dodgers and Yankees and start the World Series tomorrow.
More in-depth worthless analysis.....
White Sux and Orioles better realize when you give up 10 or more runs you aren't going to win many games.
Brewers, Rockies, Braves, and Royals better realize if you score 0 runs you are not going to win any game/s.
Moustakas is on pace for 240 RBI in 60 games BUT......Hosemer is on pace for 360 RBI in 60 games
Kepler is on pace for 120 HR in 60 games
Hendricks may be in the lead for the NL Cy Young
