Big 12 went knee jerk and caved to twitter rage.
Jeff Long adds to his list of bumbles.

Kstate doesn’t even apologize on any level, and it’s gone before their next game. So goes when it’s them, but still, Jeff should have learned from his Snoop apology. You know, since the Grammys had the same dancers.

Whoa
How’d the kitties manage to avoid responsibility or blame?

Disposable outrage society. No offense, but you (and many here) know the answer well.

I don't think they went totally blameless to be honest. Some of the ESPN guys made an effort to point out their role in the escalation....but the "attention grabber" was the stool and that's what gets the ratings/views. Plus it's KState, and not that many people give a damn about them.

HCBS said it’s necessary for the team, and the university, to turn the page.
Since you folks unearthed this thread I can only assume you do not agree. Keep holding on.

This.
12 games was well overboard.

Idk about well overboard. Seemed to be right about what I expected. I was thinking anything in the range of 8games to the rest of the season seemed reasonable. You simply can't pick up a stool and act like you're going to bash people with it.
The fact that Self may let his suspension run longer than the 12 games is an indication of how serious/angry he was about the situation...although I do think it's doubtful Self holds him out longer than the 12 games.

I was at least hoping he'd be eligible in time for the rematch in the octogon.
you know, just to hear the chorus of boos from the fraction of fans still there when Silvio would have checked in, once again, for mop up minutes after we're up big...

That was probably a factor why the Big 12 went overboard on the suspension -- the rematch.
Didn't want that to be a thing - and since white jeans Love isn't gonna play this season - the two main actors in the altercation won't be involved in the game.

If it was their player had that stool above his head then it would have been different. That was what spun this into a conversation. If it breaks up after DeSousa's punches then it isnt nearly what this ended up being.
But really, it hasnt been a national story since last Wednesday after Zion's debut and then this whole Kobe thing wiped it off the map. Get through this game tonight and KU is fully clear of it.

"Get through this game tonight and KU is fully clear of it."
For most.
And on social media, you'll hear about it from rival fans - but who gives a fuck about them.
I think the worst part of this ( beyond obviously DeSousa not being available for depth ) is that it will be fodder for this board by a select few for years.

I find it very odd that none of the Gameday crew brought up "When you're down by twenty and the offense is just trying to dribble out the clock and your coach is going over to shake hands with the other coach the first and foremost thing on your mind should be 'how quickly can I get to the locker room' and not 'I can steal the ball and get a layup' "
Missed opportunity, IMO

Then someone needs to start an official Game Day thread so we can move to talking about how we plan to survive having 1 big vs. Okie State instead of this.
Hopefully Dok can stay out of foul trouble tonight.
