wait, what about last night makes it the moment we assume Trump finally shot himself in the dick?
There's the key for you, I'd imagine.

and regarding how to fix the police problem, a lawyer friend suggests we "demand racial justice policies in law enforcement, including qualified immunity reform and mandatory implicit bias training"
Good. That's a start.
Libertarians have been arguing to end qualified immunity for decades. And it's not conservatives fighting them. So...good. We're all on board.
Minneapolis spent in the neighborhood of $1.8 million (most from a one-time federal grant) to do mandatory bias training in 2015.
OK. So...now what?
But...I'm not an expert so correct me if I'm wrong...This incident pretty clearly falls outside of the protections of qualified immunity, right?
And, don't we want SOME form of protection for LEOs? I mean, we're asking them to run toward danger, while everyone else is supposed to go away from it. So, they really aren't the same as every other citizen, in that regard.

when we went through this same shit 5-6 years ago, wasn't "increased use of body cams" high on the list? For the benefit and protection of cops and civilians alike?
I saw the Louisville police chief was fired cuz his cops killed an unarmed black BBQ joint owner and - surprise! - didn't have their body cams recording when they did it.
RIP David McAtee.
Yes, cops are still killing people of color at protests against cops killing people of color, sigh.

for me? huh?
do you think something about last night really was enough of a gaffe that it might change the minds of at least some Trump republicans?

"You know we are in the Upside Down when George W. Bush is on Team BLM while Kanye is on Team MAGA."

why is any of that commentary necessary?
seriously, is it that hard to just say “good for him...that’s the kind of presidential statement our country needs right now”
you get so caught up in trying to keep everyone “grounded” (for lack of a better term)

The contrarian me will say that GWB is about 20 years too late and somewhat disingenuous considering that none other than Karl Rove has been described as being his brain. They were not the pioneers of divisive politics but they did peddle a lot of us-vs.-them politics.
Still, I do give him a lot of credit for injecting a voice of reason and giving decent Republicans (I think he is a decent human unlike his VP) a platform to support and distinguish themselves from The Orange One. A refreshing change from the Cornyns, McConnells, Grahams of the world who have revealed themselves to be vile and cowardly.

I'm thinking right about now would be a good time to hear from Michelle Obama.
^^^^^^
I'll go you one better: Michelle and GWB, together.
And once he speaks up, your reaction is, "man libs were assholes for 8 years." Speaking of peddling in us vs. them politics.
now I'm curious to hear how you might react if and when Michelle speaks up.

DC is so tribal, zero-sum, scorched earth, he can't bear it when anyone else isn't.
