From the very beginning, anyone who knows anything about responding to a pandemic will tell you that being able to conduct widespread testing, and especially when the infection can be transmitted by asymptomatic carriers, is the key to getting your arms around the problem so you can begin to efficiently solve it. And yet, here we are, months into the pandemic, and this. How humiliating. We should be ashamed.

The Capitol’s attending physician said Thursday that coronavirus tests will be available for staffers and senators who are ill, but not enough to proactively test all 100 senators as the chamber comes back in session, according to two people familiar with the matter.

In a conference call with top GOP officials, Dr. Brian Monahan said there is not sufficient capacity to quickly test senators for coronavirus — a contrast with the White House, where any people meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are tested for the disease. Monahan said test results in the Senate will take two or more days, while the White House has rapid testing...

Since there's a lot of talk about numbers and counties and rural areas and states vs. others and etc., etc., etc., here's an interesting map where you can compare the various areas and gives the per 100,000 numbers of confirmed cases.

Interesting how they are pushing the $1,000 a dose remedy over the $5 a dose remedy.

In addition to "who is they", what "remedy" are you aware of that's "$5 a dose"?
