The co-optee influence operations are built primarily on personal relationships … they build trust with them and then they can leverage that to covertly push the FSB’s agenda

jk lol but for real. I wish that article elaborated on the nature of the campaigns. The most damning thing they mention is *checks notes* uh, claims that some humanitarian group in...um, Syria? was actually running a black market for human organs and faking chemical attacks...sometimes?

and also one mention at the end about Ukrainian nazis, but I've maintained all along that The New York Times and PBS and Zelensky and such publishing all that evidence of Ukrainian nazis were actually just Putin parrots all along.

but, for CNN to mention "Ukraine nazis" as practically an afterthought at the end of an article about Russian propaganda infiltrating westerners, without providing any examples or evidence of as much, almost comes across as western propaganda in itself, more so than an actually credible article.
