Wonder if they pay Self individually?
I would assume that Self falls under the KU contract when he represents KU professionally and can wear whatever he wants when he doesn't. I cant imagine a shie company giving a personal contract to a coach like that.

Not sure of the current agreement, but Nike sponsored coach K back in the day. 375k a year salary. 1 million signing bonus.

"UNC basketball coach Roy Williams and football coach Larry Fedora have separate, personal service contracts with Nike but are not required to disclose the value of their deals. The coaches must file university forms each year outlining any external duties, but financial details of the Nike agreements are not made public or listed on the forms"

That's from 2018

So wouldn't be shocked if Self has an Adidas deal.

This one will spill into court. And should. Selective punishment is pretty easy to prove here. The NCAA is motivated by a lot of rivalry hatred. Perhaps KU should file suit in advance of the Kangaroo.

Back in the day, Nike/Adidas paid head football head coaches at part of the shoe contracts and the HCs would kick that down to assistants who didn't make shit.

Good article and interview Dodd from CBS had with Self. Probably the most open Self has been regarding the 3 biggest things surrounding the program.

Self not the biggest fan of the administration as of this moment specifically relating to Late Night. But has seemed to be happy with how hard they are fighting the allegations.

Ended it with a great quote regarding everything. "We've taken a step sideways, but we haven't taken a step back"

"Head Coach Bill Self had no knowledge of any NCAA rules violations or illicit conduct exhibited by Adidas, its employees or its consultants".

This implies that to not be true.

KU is right, if the Adidas guy is a booster then every program in the nation is playing ineligible players.

Trying to catch up on the thread. Anyone got Cliff Alexander notes?

Any chance there’s any Easter eggs? “The university was informed they were no longer a candidate in the recruitment cuz Zion had already been offered the sought terms from Dook...”

Implies.

I could read that and take it as him asking if they were good to be mean that they are trying to set up and in home visit. Maybe Self and Fenny didn't see eye to eye on something last time they talked.

"I talked to Fenny."

"We good?"

That could be inferred no less than 100 different ways. That's the argument.

In regards to NDballer13...from .com

"However, Self argues in his response the text messages have been subjected to “irresponsible media speculation” and the evidence actually shows the “light work” was a reference to obtaining used athletic gear for Angolan amateur athletes.

Self pointed to Gassnola’s testimony in court, where he said the “light work” was not about paying Falmagne, but “uniforms, bags and stuff” for the Angolan national team.

“There is nothing about this exchange to suggest it is anything other than innocuous and benign,” Self’s response to the NCAA says."

Of course I have on Crimson and Blue glasses and what makes sense to me usually means the exact opposite to the NCAA but just from a common sense stand point I have zero idea what legs the NCAA case has to stand on.

KU is doing their best to get in that grey area. And they are doing what they can to find that area.

They hired the best of the best and I think they'll have a good chance if they keep this going and provide any reasonable doubt.

I think there is a huge grey area there with nothing provable that has been presented. Nothing in the case is anywhere near as damning as sweaty Sean Miller's case.

But in a side note...

HOLY SHIT did Long and KU throw Beaty under the bus. I mean, my goodness.
