The popular will of actual Americans is not progressive, hence the need to import and expand the definition of "American".
um, actually, it is

Um, no. Thank you for playing.
So, those pesky Hondurans and Guatemalans are the ones who are responsible for the Rs' poor performance in...pretty much every election post-Dobbs?

People are fed up with the religious right shit, man.

This is not grounded in reality. Votes are not being imported. That's just rancid rube-bait red meat that is fed to you by your handlers, who are doing everything BUT recognizing that the popular will is progressive.
This is really dumb. I don't think the average American feels fully represented Ted by either side. Hence the state of turmoil american politics is. Neither side really represents the people

Jfish might be one of the only posters on here that is all in on everything leftist/progressive

Most of us have mixed opinions (our own opinions) on a lot of issues. And sometimes align with the left or right

I haven’t identified with the Right in a long, long time.

I would say I am fiscally conservative, socially liberal.

To me, JFish is one of the few people here who truly seems to want to understand your views. He asks you to expand on your comments, but I also understand why you don’t.

This. The Right is trying to push into “Handmaids Tale” as quickly as possible.

Not sure I introduced religion into the discourse, but carry on as you were.

The first sentence there is a reading comprehension problem. I'll let my posts speak for themselves.

The second is something of a category error - there are really a couple different things going on:

1 - Broadly, in the context of discussion the 2024 election, the choice simply IS binary. There will be two serious choices (and any other choice, regardless of what someone scribbles on their nametag, is a choice of Trump). So, in the context of discussion the 2024 election, it's all-left or all-right.

2 - More narrowly, in the context of discussion of any particular issue, all that's asked is that you offer your own reasoned opinions, and that you show your work. You consistently run and hide when asked for facts or evidence - and the most logical conclusion to draw from that is that you simply don't have facts or evidence. Because, if you had it, why wouldn't you show it?

You guys have deflected in every possible way you can think of to avoid addressing the fact that this surge in illegal immigration is bad for everyone

But it isn’t bad for everyone.
You really should take stock of your base statement.

I disagree. Many of the Right are entrenched in religious dogma, but the majority of us care about the economy (which encompasses matters such as the border, inflation, energy prices, and outsourcing), fixing a broken educational system, and the economy - in that order. Did I mention the economy?

No one I know of genuinely thinks DJT is a man of God. There are idiot outliers, sure, but no one seriously believes it. We’d love to see a person of faith who can also effectively address the primary areas of concern step up and take the reins, but it looks very unlikely.

JFish is well often correct on these boreds but he's not with this one:

"(and any other choice, regardless of what someone scribbles on their nametag, is a choice of Trump)"

Wildly incorrect with a failure to grasp the heart of the right of the people to vote.

I will not be voting for either candidate because I don't think either candidate is a good choice to be the President of the US for the next term. This is not a default vote for Trump. Don't deal in absolutes.

By not voting for either candidate, I will show that I don't have faith in the current political system to represent me ( at that position ). It is a minor minor power. Just as minor as one single vote would make for either of the candidates. But it is something.

It's as much of a minor "power" as waking up on election day, smoking a bowl and getting so high that you forget that it's election day. It doesn't "show" anything unless you back it up with virtue signaling on social media to explain it.

Very very much, with all my theories on how a Democracy could ideally be run and the principles at the core of how leaders should be chosen, agree to disagree.

On a grand scale, if voting numbers are at a record low, that would show something.
On my own personal scale, I'm not vocal about politics unless asked, and it would show, or I suppose justify/strengthen my position, if asked.
And most importantly I would stick to my beliefs and feel like my voice, or lack there of, was being 'counted'.

Respect. It's what I often do. I vote third party the majority of the time, even in local elections. Unless there is a particular candidate/I feel strong about that justifies a D or R vote.

I'm part of the approx 2% voting libertarian or independent

If you take a closer look at illegal immigration, you'd realize that illegal immigrants actually suffer a lot from it. Not all of them get this sweet deal of a NYC hotel suite
