I heard that pork prices are really low. Sure enough, I’ve sighted a McRib in JoCo. Merry Christmas to me!
The McRib kicks ass, but I always feel like a loser after eating McDonalds.
Sometimes it's a necessity though. I can only eat there maybe once a month. And it's usually when no options available.

Referring to a McRib as bbq is a bannable offense, right?

actually now I’m curious to eat two
McRibs but like in a double down style sandwich with like fried chicken in the middle. And maybe some cheese too. And post about in the bbq thread.

Sometimes I genuinely wonder how New Belgium manages to stay in business.

Their beer isn't very good because it's too
Belgiumish.

yup.
and even then, it isn't even particularly good Belgian beer.
I hung out with a beer snob last night who busted out some Trappist dubbel or trippel or whatever. It came in a champagne bottle. I normally don't like that style beer, but it was delish. He explained the subtle banana and citrus hues came from brilliant use of yeast, not just throwing a bunch of fruit and flowers and shit in it. It was smooth, not yeasty despite the yeast, sorta dry, but still actually finished like a beer, instead of finishing like beer-flavored yeast juice mixed with rubbing alcohol.
New Belgium stays in business cuz, more than anything else, they're good marketers. Their brand pops up at a lot of hip concerts and festivals and blah blah blah. Their brewery tour is super popular, and they've harnessed that buzz in a tourist trap of a state known, among other things, for beer.
At this point, they're so big that they're closer to a corporate giant than they are an artisan craft brewery. No one in Colorado actually gets excited about drinking it - not even beer snobs who otherwise make a point to enjoy Belgian-style grog.
At our beer party last night, one guy spoke up that he at least thinks New Belgium makes good sours. But is that really what a brewery should bet the farm on - sours?!
But at the least, props to them for being employee owned, and to their sustainable initiatives.
I just wish they could translate that into also making good beer.

also is there a more tourist trap of a state than Colorado?
Hawaii I guess. Maybe Florida, in the contiguous 48.
Utah, Wyoming, Montana could maybe make cases, for reasons similar to Colorado, but I don't think it's nearly on the same scale as CO. It's not like those places have to regularly host the entire state of Texas.

Should we apologize in advance for all that cash?

I will admit it: My favorite beer was Coors Extra Gold. Still wish Coors made it.

No need to. Keep y’all’s tourist dollars comin!
Okay but maybe suggest changing the bald summer tires on the 2wd suburban before y’all drive up to the mountains...
