I agree Braun should shoot more.
Not sure if that's on Self - Self wants him to.
McCormack isn't the focal point of this team. But he is important to attack the post so that it can free the perimeter. It is a basic concept.
I agree completely. But EVERY coach knows that you simply double team him and it nullifies him.
Self does him no favors by telegraphing that we're gonna force it in to the post.
And as others have said, playing Harris and Dave is a de facto permanent double team.

I don't agree it nullifies him.
His first play was a good assist when he was doubled.
He threw another pass out of a double but Ochai missed a wide open 3.
He's definitely not good enough to consistently score out of a double.
But he's the only guy on our team that teams double.
So that alone means something.

Teams just have to double/dig down off of Harris. Pretty easy.

That also may be why you often see Braun trying to feed the post ( though I think generally Braun is good at that entry pass ) because his guy actually has to close on him.

Harris is shooting over 30% from 3pt. There have been plenty of times this year where our offense looked best with him ON the court.
Not sure what the answer was tonight becuase Remy and Yesufu were as bad or worse than DH.

Harris thrives in uptempo games. In a half court setting he’s a hindrance.

Well the blueprint for Dave is to double him. It's not 100% effective, but it's pretty clear that's the way to defend Dave.
And you're right. NO ONE doubles mitch.
good Dave is all conference bad Dave is the other team's best player. That's why doubling him is so effective. Doubling Dave turns good Dave into bad dave.

One more reason we gotta run.

We spend way too much time on this.
Our best players should carry us. And it ain’t Dave!

Increase tempo and ball movement.
Have Harris initiate where we want instead of 35 feet from the basket.

Who was the starting center(s) for Villanova when they won 2 NC?
In 18 it was Eric Paschall, who is now in his 3rd NBA season.
But isnt a traditional center! He’s 6’-6”!
I would trade DMac, Mitch and Clemence for a 6'6" big who can guard and hit threes well enough to play in the NBA.

Dave should be our third option.
I think hes a very good option in half court sets generally. Guy has hit 53 percent of his FGs in his career. And when hes on, hes on.
He shot three shots tonight and doyel is acting like hes the reason we lost.
But yes to running.
Go, go, go in transition and if that doesn't work, then establish your set, which means hopefully good Dave collapses the defense enough to give Ochai, Wilson and Braun more room.

Maybe KU should just play more aggressively and guard better?

Down goes ISU. Tough on the road in the Big 12

Playing harder does solve some problems, but being so easy to guard in the half court is worrisome. You could see it in noncon, but it wasn't getting exposed so much by mediocre opponents.

We need to be more creative in the half court though. We're predictable and that makes us easier to defend.
Put och or Braun in the post depending on matchup. More screen and roll when Dave and Harris are in together, have the guy who passed to the post cut hard to a spot.....

Agree.
Woulda liked to see a lob set or two for Ochai. Or anyone.

I wouldn't a. Because of Dave's B12 play last season and b. I think Clemence is gonna be really good eventually.
