Coaches always say "We can't control what anybody does after practice" That is true with smaller levels of college athletics. Not D1. They have meals, board, study halls, tutors and so much more all available to them without hesitation. They want control and they have a ton of control.
As Hoopla says, it seems to be an institutional control issue for that program.
I was a big Oats fan, now he's just gross.
Same here. I have sung his praises here many times but this is fucked up. This is an absurd take for Oats and Miller 100% should be punished. Frankly, I cannot figure out why he has not been charged with a crime as he seems to meet all of the criteria for an accessory crime being that it appears he was well aware that a crime was going to be attempted using the weapon that he brought to the scene.

Miller freaking parked the car right behind the Jeep so that the lady and the guy were in couldn't move.
I have a feeling that this story is just beginning and Tucsaloosa PD will have to do something, anything.

Not exactly a lot of law school options in the area. I doubt that plays into it at all but who knows.

This story is un____ing believable. Unbelievable!
Even in this day and age, this shouldn't be a hard decision for the coach. Where's his self-respect? What parent with any sense will want to send their young adult to be "coached" by someone with no ethics like Oats? (It shouldn't be, but that's a rhetorical ?.)

I think it’s likely less a matter of school spirit home cooking, and more (if anything) a matter of some gun nut culture thing?

Beard gets canned for alleged domestic abuse charges, which have subsequently been dropped (right or wrong, I am not the judge).
This situation at Bama is well beyond the pale.

"Coach K: 'I don't miss coaching.'"
ESPN, why is that a headline?
also this Miller dood is pretty good at basketball.

Bama and the cocks in OT
Miller just hit the game tying layup with 4 seconds left. 35 so far, which isn’t even his career high

I liked it better when Kentucky was losing. Related note....outside the top 2...maybe 3 teams. the SEC sucks.

Bama’s the number 2 team in the country, and they’re in OT with 10-17 (3-11) cocks

Wait a minute, Oats sought advice on managing this oops-I-was-there-at-a-murder-scene-related issue with...Ray Lewis???
https://www.al.com/alabamabasketball/20 ... lewis.html
I'm dead serious: I thought Oats' judgment was disqualifyingly bad here
before this. Nail in the coffin.

What if anything does this mean?
Kentucky 2-0 vs Tennessee.
KU 0-1 vs Tennesse.
KU 1-0 vs Kentucky.
Without knowing the seedings and giving it very little thought, I am going to GUESS my Elite 8 right now. Of course I am guessing there will be some upsets.
Kansas
Texas
Tennessee
Kentucky
UCLA
Gonzaga
Creighton
Michigan State
