If your point is that Udeh would have been better off at KU then I 1000% agree.
I am just not sure if KU would have been better off.

I wonder if when self recruited hunter he considered that both udeh and zuby would leave. Like I'm sure he expected to lose one. But both?

I heard a quote awhile back...
"As a coach it's my job to recruit someone better than you, as a player it's your job to make sure I can't"
Kind of sums up the current state of the transfer market

Maybe the possibility of the 2nd year of HD played a role. Hard to say.randylahey wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 9:24 pm I wonder if when self recruited hunter he considered that both udeh and zuby would leave. Like I'm sure he expected to lose one. But both?
I think Zuby had a tougher path because he plays the 4 and so does Kj.

Gee, get a guy who has been a 2nd team All-American, First team Big 10, Big 10 All DEFENSE, who averaged 18.5 and 9.0 last season, and had the legitimate potential to be a first team All American and Naismith player of the year this season and people feel Self shouldn't have done it? Or at least are saying they may not have done it if........
Self was losing a bunch of players and needed/wanted quality guys to fill his roster. He got the best guy available. Kudos.
Do people not realize/recall Self had serious health scares and had to give consideration to retiring? The man has (or at least had) a bad heart.
I think he probably feels tomorrow is promised to no one. He's probably focused on trying to win "today" and worrying about tomorrow - tomorrow. He focused on putting together the best team he could for THIS season and he did a pretty good job all things considered.

New President - New Gutter. I am going to pledge my allegiance to Donald J. Trump and for the next 4 years I am going to be an even bigger asshole than I already am.

I think we all understand getting hunter was the right move. It just feels weird. Long time ku fans understand the history tradition and culture of the program. And value 4 year guys. Love watching them develop over there career
And losing promising young players to buy a top transfer feels like selling out. But it's just a product of the change in college sports. People don't tend to like change

Re: WELCOME HUNTER DICKINSON
And if hunter was athletic and could play D we wouldn't have a reason to bitch about it. But then again, if he was athletic he would have been in the draft lottery, not the transfer market

Re: WELCOME HUNTER DICKINSON
2 first team all league players (only school with 2) and a 6th place finish.
And neither might be healthy/active for the big 12 tourney
