That kyle kid was no doubt looking for trouble and a scumbag and he deserves what hes going to get. All indications are that the guys he shot were not exactly stand up perfect citizens....in fact they seem to be scumbags.

We have dozens of pages of anger directed at the kenosha dude.

Perhaps the people that stay out at these protests and specifically are looking for trouble are, indeed, scumbags and not indicative of anything other than just that.
Perhaps we are just talking past each other.

I'm going by alleged facts from the the state and the shooter, and nothing else. We have a set of events from Kenosha. Prosecution has laid out their side, and Kyle's attorney's laid out his side. The thing we know most on that side is this Kyle kid seems to be an outside agitator strapping a long gun on his chest, something happened. This is for the courts to decided, not us.

The Portland shooter, we know nothing, and we don't even officially have a suspect name released by police. We have leaked info, which we cannot determine the validity of. Why should we speculate now until we hear some official facts. The only thing we do know is the victim maced the shooter, the shooter shot back and killed. We just don't have anything else. We don't know how the altercation started, who was the initial aggressor, and if the victim would be alive if he didn't shoot mace first. Why don't we wait until the prosecution announce their charges, if any. We don't need to adjudicate this by the end of the day.

Someone will bitch and whine that he's spineless if he says nothing and someone will bitch and whine that he's petty if he does.
So what. It isn't about them. It is about him.

The same could be said about some situations trump gets himself into.

Trump can't be the bar.
You're the only one creating a bar and comparing this to Trump.
Good lord...

So it is okay for a President or likely future president to yell at people who are taunting to not kill themselves or "don't jump"? To me, i would have rather he just ignored him rather than shout dumb tough guy comments back at him. Be the bigger person. Remember Michelle Obama's "when they go low we go high" comment? That was an example of Biden being unable to go high. He needed to respond like a wise guy/tough guy. Unnecessary imo.

I like a lot of things about Biden, and i would vote for nearly anyone over trump, but he (Biden) does/says a lot of stupid shit. Oh well. He will be an infinite improvement over trump...but hopefully for only 4 years.

And we certainly don't have dozens of pages of anger directed at Kyle. I feel bad for him, as I said around my first post on him. I think he put himself in a bad situation, and ruined his life. But he also doesn't seem like he was a great dude video (whoever posting the video of him punching a girl). I don't think I judged him at all, and instead just gave my opinion of the facts and a self defense claim.

I wouldn't feel too bad -- he'll be fine. He might not be able to buy a gun again, but that's the worst case scenario.

I am with you. Kyle was a dip shit for seeking out that situation, whether he worked in Kenosha or not, if he stayed home he wouldnt be in jail (juvenille detention actually right now, which is problematic too, but we can save that discussion) and those businesses would have been vandalized all the same. I posted the video of him and another dude beating up a girl....the video cuts right before a black dude beats his ass for doing so from what i have read...

I think what TDub is getting at, and not directed at you, but a lot of people here seem to mainly care about the Kenosha thing becuase it is seen as a opportunity to "stick it to trump". Obviously for 8 years we had the opposite...everything that was seen as a opportunity to "stick it to Obama" was totally freaked out about from the right.

The antifa shooter is what it is, much like kenosha is focused on right now i expect the right wing media will focus on it while making excuses for the Kyle kid. I hadnt even seen anything about it until now. But i think the same people who said "is getting hit with a skateboard reason to shoot someone" probably wouldnt say "is getting maced reason to shoot someone" in this situation.

I am not criticizing anyone for it, it is simply a prime example of the current divide we have in our country. It is sad.

And even here it plays out. This board is divided on clear lines at times....and even people who are not truly republicans occasionally get lashed out at and lumped in simply for feeling slightly different than the vocal left. Not everybody does it but some certainly do. It is interesting to witness and observe since this is largely anonymous although some people's identify is known.

I think 99%ish of people here want similar things. Maybe different ideas about how to get there and/or achieve those things, but similar ideals/morals. I wish we could all discuss things and be kinder to each other, not just here but also in real life, but it is just hard.

Hell, i have aunts/uncles that i will never really talk to again over things they have said since trump came into office and the social justice situation exploded. I just cant respect people who have said some of the things they have said or who are so blind by their ignorance that they believe the things they believe. I just can't do it. Not with my 2 little kids watching me and my every move. Character matters. I won't tolerate that kind of hatefulness in my real life.

Sorry for the rant. I just think things dont have to be quite as bad as they are if the reasonable people would just treat each other a little nicer. Obviously message boards are inherently ruder than real life though. In real life i dont see as much division as i do on the internet.

Was the guy who was maced in Portland running from a murder they were just witnessed committing? So no, I won't be comparing the provocations between the two shootings.

And I am not sure if we're as divided in real life as we are on the internet since we're still cooped up in our houses most of the time due to the incompetent handling of this COVID mess. I haven't seen my coworkers, the majority of people I normally see in person, for more than 5 months.

When McCain died, in August 2018, Trump told his senior staff, according to three sources with direct knowledge of this event, “We’re not going to support that loser’s funeral,” and he became furious, according to witnesses, when he saw flags lowered to half-staff. “What the fuck are we doing that for? Guy was a fucking loser,” the president told aides. Trump was not invited to McCain’s funeral.

What, objectively, does Trump feel for slain police officers? We know the answer. Kyle martyred on a pyre of evil manipulation.

Sorry, but joking about mental health is in bad taste too. It is disrepectful to people who truly have mental health issues (and there is wide variety for mental health) to associate QAnon conspiracy theorists with them.

...but sex trafficking as a whole suddenly isn't real? Why is that a QAnon conspiracy theory? Or why was that included without more specifics such as the weird pizzagate thing which was a conspiracy theory. Human trafficking is very real though.

QAnon is not, was never ever and will not be real. It is a Russian disinformation Op genius. Have you heard about immigrant children stolen from their families and held in anonymous prisons? We don't even know all of their names. There are holding facilities notorious for rape and physical abuse. You need to wake the fuck up.

Holy shit. Not sure why i am the target of your QAnon tirades? Because I thought the words from a woman of color were powerful and you can't seperate her words from what you view as a QAnon anti-Biden campaign that decided to use her words for their own agenda?

Human trafficking (in general) isn't a conspiracy from QAnon. So i am lost there.

Also, I am awake...and have NEVER claimed QAnon's conspiracy theories were real.

Is it too late to call them conspiracy narratives? The word theory doesn't apply to Pizzagate or to QAnon's ramblings.

Back to the old Illy.

I mean, you understand context, right? When talking about child sex trafficking in the context of QAnon, that would be referring to Pizzagate and the giant global cabal that kidnaps millions of kids for sex trafficking and then take their blood for the adrenochrome.
