I dont expect a President to know everything, it is impossible. I do expect a President to appoint appropriate people to important positions and to listen to the people who do have expertise on a topic. To me, that has been Trump's biggest failure as a President. I had hoped like many that he would listen to the adults in the room with knowledge but instead he has fired them, driven them out of their position or attempted to discredit them.

His massive ego simply cannot tolerate being seen as anything less than the alpha dog in any scenario. That just doesnt work in this job.

One of the best “advice” I got from a former boss (reason I put in quotes is because she was describing our high-performing department, and not giving advice - she was the department head) - I don’t have to be the smartest person in the room. I just have to recognize who the smart people are and give them the correct tools and opportunities to be successful.

I have used this principle ever since. I know that some members of my team are extremely talented and many are at least as talented as I am, if not more. However, I have a lot more experience and I’m not threatened when they challenge my thinking. In fact I welcome it, as long as it is not disruptive, and respectful to others. Of course ours is a highly technical field and highly collaborative environment.

this, imo, is one of the keys to being a successful manager in any situation...identifying who has what strengths (and weaknesses), and empowering people to be able to accentuate their strengths

not only does it foster productivity, but it also tends to lead to happier people

Agreed. No job should be more collaborative than President of the US.

But his ego just simply will not allow it and we as a nation are suffering for his stubborn ignorance and maniacal ego.

The stumbling and stuttering isn't exactly funny. I guess you could play on his ability to use 100 words to say something when 8 would have sufficed.

Biden was solid (albeit boring and stumbling a bit at times and apologizing too much) in the town hall. If someone was told that the mental acuity of one candidate was waning and had them watch both town halls from this week, I don't think they would think it's Joe.

Let's be real...hardly anybody is making up their mind based on town halls or debates this time around.

The trump people think biden has dementia. The biden people have 4 years of evidence that Trump is an awful president.

This all comes down to voter turnout in a few key states. Will the dems who don't always vote show up and vote? I think so. But if they don't there is a chance this nightmare will continue for 4 more years.

I saw an estimate that 9% of voters are undecided still. That's a good number of votes still up for grabs. Turnout will obviously be key but these town halls and debates matter to more people than you think.

I will absolutely watch the debates because I want to see that for myself. Town halls are fine to catch the wrap ups the next day for me.

It depends I suppose.

At least you know what you are getting with the outspoken ones.

In this election i sort of only think there are a few types of voters (not including dems):
-people who somehow like trump/think he is smart.
-people who are appalled by trump and would literally vote for anything/anyone over him.
-people who hate dems and will vote against them at all costs no matter the price.
-people who cringe at trump, but have enough money (or think they do) that they feel the must vote for a repiblican for tax purposes.


There may be a few more segments but that pretty well covers most of them.


And for the last segment it is hilarious that they overlook all his spending and only focus on the tax cuts they may have received. When you spend this much the money has to come from somewhere. It can't all be future spending reductions. Inflation will almost have to occur on some level, and that is no different than paying slightly higher taxes. In the end it reduces your buying power one way or another.

Way too many people think they are "rich" and allow that to dictate all their voting habits. When in reality most dems increased tax proposals would barely impact them at all.
