2023 was the 22nd best year ever for the S&P 500, and the 4th best year ever for the NASDAQ 100. (Those figures go back 95 years.)
The S&P was up > 24% in 2023.
Both are close to their all-time highs.
Thanks, President Biden!

If mich and the folks at his mall have even a few molecules of honesty of opinion in their body Uncle wins the election 535-3. Wyoming is a lost cause.

In today’s edition of, “Biden ran on not being Trump when holy shit he’s just like Trump anyway”
Remember how pissed we got when Trump spent all that time vacationing at Mar-A-Lago and such?

You going to run with that source? How much time was spent golfing? Most of that time was offsite work.

Thank you for providing a clear example of the corrosive effect on well-meaning people of false equivalency and bothsidesing.

I dunno…if you were potus why WOULDN’T you wanna spend as much time as possible in the White House?
That’s like an all-time top place to wanna throw a house party, right up there with the Taj Mahal, Dracula’s Castle, and your mom’s house.
More seriously and to the point - I’m not that worried about how many vacation days a potus takes. I figure he’s still doing work on vacation too, right? Maybe it’s more of a work remote thing, which I think more folks should be able to do either way.
If Biden does deserve criticism like Trump, it’s less about how much vacation Biden takes like Trump, and more about how Biden, like Trump, is more interested in doing things like furnishing weapons for various far-right ethno-militant foreign governments than he is in doing anything to materially improve the lives of American people.

Thanks again, President Biden!
The economic news is so good, isn't it about time for republicans to threaten to shut the government down, again, yet?
You know, so they can try to make it look like they give a fuck about it more than Hunter Biden's laptop?
Initial jobless claims for the week ended Dec. 30 decreased 18K to 202K, much lower than the 217.5K expected and compared with 220K prior (revised from 218K) in the previous week.
The four-week moving average was 207,750, a decrease of 4,750 from the prior week's average of 212.5K (revised from 212K).
Continuing claims rose to 1.855M from 1.886M prior and lower than 1.883M consensus.
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.2% for the week ended Dec. 23, a decrease of 0.1% from the previous week's unrevised rate, the Department of Labor said Thursday.
Advance number of actual initial claims under state programs on an unadjusted basis were 268,020 in the week ended Dec. 30, a decrease of 6,820 from the prior week. Seasonal factors expected an increase of 17,136 from the previous week.
Oh, wait:
Wed, January 3, 2024 at 5:05 PM EST House GOP resolves to 'shut down the border or shut down the government' in 16 days
House GOP lawmakers offered affirmation Wednesday that a partial government shutdown could be in the offing in just 16 days largely over the immigration issue.
In a series of comments, House Speaker Mike Johnson and his Republican colleagues reiterated that their focus in the coming negotiations will be on making the border into an obligatory part of the government funding talks — when those talks resume in earnest.
But the group offered little clarity on what could be the path to compromise to avert a government shutdown and the economic costs such a stoppage could entail...

"Not at the White House" does not necessarily mean "on vacation". "Playing golf at a resort" does specifically mean "on vacation".

This is such a silly distraction (not criticizing you at all).
Trump defrauded and grifted his way to wealth derived from...let's describe it charitably as passive income.
Biden has, with the exception of a brief time following his VP term, been a working professional for over 50 years.
You could assume
every single inference for Trump, and every single inference against Biden and there would still not remotely be a comparison of their work ethics and how they spend their time in the big chair.
Drawing a false equivalency between Biden (Delaware; Camp David) and Trump (Trump Org Properties) on this point betrays a rotten foundation of one's point of view; if your arguments against Biden are so weak that you get to
this stuff, you've got nothing.
(Again, not YOU.)

Agreed. Is Biden billing the US government exorbitant rates for his large travelling party to stay at the resort he owns and is on vacation at? Nope.
Stories like these are just more garbage churned out by the trash generators flooding the zone with shit.
