Whoever planned the route for that truck needs to be fired. Zero chance he was making that corner.

So we have been on a hiring binge at work lately. I went in last week with my dog Dok to introduce myself to the new guy as I am still mostly working from home. He is a KU ArchE graduate, graduated 3 years ago.

"Hey, you must be Jim, nice to meet you, I'm Japhy, the guy from the empty office".

Dok introduces himself in his usual manner, he shoves his nose into the poor guy's crotch so hard it makes his eyeballs bulge. "This is Dok, he is named after Azubuike".

I get blank stare.

"So....", he says, "that is the name of a basketball player?".

"Aren't you supposed to be a Jayhawk? Didn't you graduate from KU? Someone get HR on the phone, I want to see his transcripts!"

Another new guy pipes up, "I have no idea who Dok Azubuike is either."

I give the other new guy a look, "You graduated from South Dakota School of the Mines, you had no idea what a goddamn streetlight was before you moved here, so that doesn't count. He, (pointing at Jim) graduated from KU!"

Another new guy who graduated from KU ArchE about the same time as Jim starts today. Dok and I will go to the office to verify his credentials in our respective ways.

You should have introduced yourself as Bill Self.

And hang on, I thought Dok introduced himself by taking a giant dump in front of you?

Dok saves the projectile shitting as a way to introduce himself to the canine ladies. With humans, he does a quick and invasive proctology exam.

Some really good engineers are one track, focused dweebs. I will give the kid the benefit of the doubt in that regard. We will just have to keep him away from clients until we get a better read on this glaring personality flaw.

I mean if he doesn’t know who Dok is, what else doesn’t he know about KU?

Did he even take classes in Eaton hall?

Did he ever enjoy a meal on Mass st?

Can he find Lawrence on a map?

Story somewhat reminds me of my buddy's son who is currently a Freshman at Kentucky.
When I learned he was going to Kentucky I asked him if he's a big Cal fan.
He had no idea what I was talking about.

My kid graduated from UK this spring. I would bet that she doesn't know who Cal is.

I don't like IPAs. No idea what hazy means, but I doubt I'd like it.

Hazy means what it sounds like - it’s a cloudy, unfiltered, more translucent or even opaque liquid, that finishes thicker and heavier and more full-bodied cuz of it.

Apparently it’s supposed to give IPAs more popular appeal, and apparently they’re selling well cuz a lotta breweries are offering them, even in lieu of a normal IPA.

but to me it just makes them harder to drink and more like bitter liquid bread than any sort of refreshing beverage.
