Biden is probably the safest bet to beat Trump but the least appealing for those who actually care about progressive policies and ideas.

I wouldn't have put it this way, but I get his point. Certainly, Bernie has vastly, vastly more to offer America than Trump, and you have to admire his willingness to wander in the wilderness with his "revolutionary" ideas all those years only to be significantly vindicated now, but... He's just not the package.

Theres also a reason many Bernie bros ARE children. College age children who still think it's possible to change the world with a peace pipe and a can do attitude. No sense of tgd real world yet.

Or maybe Bernie is appealing to many cuz he wants Merica to enact policies similar to those of other countries who are comparatively kicking our ass?

What exactly are you hoping to get and what are YOU giving up to get it? You want lore socialistic things to benefit YOU. You complain because you dont get enough tips, manager taking your clients etc again people giving up something to benefit YOU.
YOU want things that make YOUR life better. I dont see you needing to give up much of your choices or lifestyle to benefit others. It seems to be a lot of take. What are YOU giving up to benefit society?
Bernie's shit appeals to college kids (you're not a college kid so this part isnt about you) because they havent given shit to society yet, they havent invested years of time into their lives and their families lifes. They arent giving up shit to live in Bernie land. They want the benefits and free shit, and think they deserve these things, without ever putting a dime into it or society themselves.

to start, personally i'd cut military spending to pay for healthcare
i'm not in favor of free college tuition for all, but i see substantial merit in offering trade school educations either for free or for a dramatically reduced cost

they don't want to give anything up. They want to take money from people and give to other people to make themselves feel compassionate.
It's all rainbows and unicorns in bernie land. With no idea how to pay for it, or how much worse it makes things for those of us who already handle our own shit and provide for our families.

Well thats why I ask. Most people I see supporting it are the ones that dont have to give up a damn thing but get the benefits. They want the stuff, they want to benefit in their lives. Bernolians complain about how corrupt the government is (all the way through) and then demand that the solution is to have the government take over everything. We need less government influence. Not more.

And in the context of things like health care, how has that worked out for us?

And that's fine and reasonable stance to take. Even if you dont agree with it, it at least is a stance with some give and take. But you seem to be pretty reasonable and grounded person in general. Not the type of typical Bernie fan (dont know If you are) that I'm talking about.

I have been providing for myself and my family my entire adult life. I'm tired of it. It's time others started taking care of me. I got who ever is promising the most freebies.
The millennials and the gen-z'ers want it, they got it. I'll be dead by the time the bill comes due. Have fun with it.

We dont know. Truly privatized healthcare hasnt been given the opportunity to work. Or to fail.
You havent answered my question.

i am a Bernie fan
i think it's absurd that the wealthiest country on the planet doesn't do more to help ALL of its citizenry
only tangentially related, but it i think it says a lot that nothing has been done to "fix" the medicaid and social security issue that looms dark on the horizon. it's all about priorities, and it's obvious that officials of both parties have had priorities that are askew from my own. Bernie has, by and large, had views that are much more in line with my own than anyone other candidate, regardless of party

depends
"less government" has gotten us into the current issue with the measles outbreak/s
there are cases where the good of the whole outweighs the desires of a few. now obviously, when, how, and where that call is made can be largely subjective, but that's the benefit (in theory), in my mind of a representative democracy...to interject novel ideas (no matter how "unreasonable" some may think they are) into the discourse.

Fair, and I won't argue with you about who you should or shouldn't align with, as I said I respect the fact that you seem to be grounded and think through your decisions. You arent the typical free shit gimme gimme Bernie fan I have been exposed to.
Doesnt mean I agree with you but that's also just fine.
